Not a bit - I've know this and the fact that once you open an Email the sender can see your IP address. How this works is that it contains a link to an image on a remote server. That image is loaded after sending a request to the server - and the server logs your IP address. They can also know that you have opened the email. That's why I always have this off - Surprised?

It will always ask me if I want it to load remote content.
The worst thing is the one I said above - also JavaScript won't work obviously, so there's not a lot of bad things that can be done. And webpages can do a TON of bad stuff when the page is opened.

Yeah - but still the sender can see that you've opened the email. Which for spammers, means that you have an active account and will target you with more spam. Doesn't gmail proxy the images and content in emails?

nope Fun fact: emails actually use HTML, the same format used for webpages. So, in essence, emails can be used to send entire webpages. And webpages can do a TON of bad stuff when the page is opened.
Surprised?

I don't think <script> tags work in good mail clients. Fun fact: emails actually use HTML, the same format used for webpages. So, in essence, emails can be used to send entire webpages. And webpages can do a TON of bad stuff when the page is opened.
Surprised?
Also, there should be a subset of HTML for email that only has presentational things.
