This is a really small thing, but I think it would be useful to have a “purr” sound effect.

I recently created a simple game in which you play with some cats which wander around the screen. One of the ways in which you can play with them is by petting them. Whenever you pet them, they meow. However, it feels kind of unnatural for them to meow, when they should be purring.

I thought about it some more, and it's probably not important. I mean, people can just upload their own sound effects. But this could be dangerous, because lots of people would just search up “purr sound effect” on google, and click the first random site they see, thus risking downloading malware or other harmful things. Plus, a lot of Scratch users use a school computer in which it's basically impossible to get a sound effect from a trusted site, because they're all restricted by the schools.

So, in summary, adding a “purr” sound effect and possibly others of the sort could be beneficial to users in a few ways.

I don't see why not, considering scratch's mascot is a cat, yet there's only 2 cat based sounds and both are meows.

there is no purr sound in the scratch sound library. this is a suggestion to add one.

the workaround for this entire thing is (if you have a cat) record them purring and share it as a free sound effect

Just grab it from an online sound library, they are downloadable and free to use.

support, because kids (which make up te bulk of scratch's userbase) may try to download sounds from sketchy websites. adding a built in purr sound will also fix the problem where the only cat-related sounds are meows.
