Ban Adf.ly Links
I know, I know, this is just another “ban x” forum, but this one has a valid reasoning.
Adf.ly is a URL shortener which can give the URL creator money whenever the link is clicked. The catch is that the ads frequently are malicious. To someone who is new to the internet, they might click the ads thinking that’s what they were supposed to do and then get a nasty virus.
URL shorteners are already blocked if I recall correctly due to potentially linking to unsafe sites.
So, technically, links to this site are already against the rules. So I think that adf.ly links should be banned in the comment section, though mentioning adf.ly shouldn’t be against the rules in situations where someone is warning another person about why it’s dangerous.

Support, allowing that site could be dangerous.
But I only support if the word Adf isn't blacklisted on it's own, maybe keywords like Adf, dot, period, and if they were together the bad word detector would go off.

Support, on my old computer when I was younger, I used to click on ads all the time… That wasn't the best for the computer. I had to factory reset it awhile ago too.

I’m fortunate enough to have not gotten any viruses from adfly as far as I know. Plus I have Adblock and Malwarebytes.
Support, allowing that site could be dangerous.I’m thinking just adf.ly links when they include the URL to a site.

URL shorteners are already blocked if I recall correctly due to potentially linking to unsafe sites.I'm a little confused about what you're suggesting, then. Yes, using URL shorteners is already not allowed for the reason you state, and since adf.ly is a link shortener, it would fall under that category.
(…) mentioning adf.ly shouldn’t be against the rules in situations where someone is warning another person about why it’s dangerous.
So, by “ban this link” I would assume you mean “blacklist it in comments so no one can even say it.” But then you state that you should be able to mention it to warn others about it — which wouldn't be possible if we blacklisted it.
So, either this is already implemented, or there is something else in your suggestion that I'm missing.

I’m suggesting banning links that are adf.ly/(insert numbers here), but allowing people to still say adf.ly, or just say adfly. There’s certainly situations where saying its name would be okay, such as:URL shorteners are already blocked if I recall correctly due to potentially linking to unsafe sites.I'm a little confused about what you're suggesting, then. “Many Minecraft mods have adfly links”
“Be careful using adfly! It can contain viruses”
“I don’t like adfly”
And anything similar to that.

Support, it also has some NSFW ads and many of them are not for kids or even teens. I've run into adfly once or twice and many of the ad links are blocked by my antivirus thingy. Also, rb.gy is one that isn't blacklisted.

Massive support for the following reasons:
On adfly's website, they say that “All advertising is strictly family-safe with no pop-ups. Anti-virus and malware servers are scanning the adverts 24/7.”, but a large amount of people can verify that the statement is false. A quick google search will tell you that the site is filled with pop-ups, malware, and non family-safe ads.
- Adfly is a URL shortener, which isn't allowed.
- Adfly is commercial spam, which isn't allowed.
- Adfly has many inappropriate ads.
- Adfly has many malicious ads.
- Adfly has many misleading ads which trick you away from your destination, such as fake download buttons, fake Flash updates, etc.
- Adfly sometimes forces people to enable notifications in order to get to their destination. Keep in mind that there isn't any logical reason for adfly having notifications, so this ends up in users being spammed with ads and malicious or sketchy notifications.

Yeah, for this reason only the LINKS should be banned, but saying “adfly is a virus” should be allowed (also, there’s a chrome extension that can make it possible to skip ads if it’s necessary). Or if someone is making a virus simulator project and they want adfly to be one of the viruses in it.no support, people wouldn't be able to warn people about AdflyWell, only links could be banned, i.e “adf.ly/”.

Adf.ly is really bad, it asks for access to notifications and promotes scam sites as well.
