I was a little surprised by the new sprites available in Scratch 3. In the name of diversity, where are the white kid sprites? There are only two white girls, none with blonde hair and one is a WITCH. Is this on purpose? There are more poor white kids in my community than any other. And these kids, like all kids, want to create things in their own image. It's disappointing that we are swinging the pendulum away from some, in the name of including others. Why can't everyone be represented equally? And before any of you hammer me for this observation, think about it objectively.

You can easily re-colour the sprites to make them white, or any colour for that matter.

Agreed. And I should clarify: these sprites aren't “new.” It's been like this for ….well, EVER. My point is: for little kids, that's a discussion I don't want to have. It's just weird. I'm taking the time to make custom sprite files for all the kids. All will have something to choose from. I'm just surprised that it's such a noticeable issue. It would be the same if they were all white with yellow hair: weird.
