I'm always amazed by how many people like the gameplay. To me all you do is mash 1 and the d-pad and it's kinda boring.
The graphics are really good for the Wii (although that's about the only good part of the game imo)

I have created an impossible password for Metroid 1 using a password generator. And not a “so hard it's practically impossible” code, actually impossible. It is HW0000 000Fu0 000000 01m3-1, and it starts you off in Tourian with no upgrades at all. Below you are metroids, who will probably kill you. But this isn't practically impossible, it's actually impossible, so what happens if you make it down there, which IS possible? Well, the door is closed, and you do not have anything to open it. Well, maybe you can try going back the way you came? Wrong again, you don't have the morph ball. And even if you did, the Kraid statue is up, making it impossible to get through. And even if that wasn't a problem, there's a red door that you can't open. So, you're stuck. Feel free to give it a go, I'm not joking about this.

My first handheld game and Metroid game was Fusion on my then brand new GameBoy Micro. It was HARD but very fun.

my first metroid game was fusion which my mum bought in 2003. it was probably the hardest game my 10 year old self had ever played.

My favorite, even though it's really old at this point, is Super Metroid. Everything about it is still really great, even now 25 years later. SNES had to be the best era for video games. It doesn't even need the distinction of my favorite Metroid game. My favorite game at all except for maybe the original Star Fox. (but that was a really hard game). The music for this one was amazing, I looked it up on youtube. It has such a creepy vibe but it's not just a bunch of jumpscares. It's awesome

Metroid Blast Ball is a nice experience for a grand total of $0.00.

when I was playing super metroid I found the x ray scope room (I didn’t have the grapple beam) so I just brute forced it with the ice beam for TWO HOURS (though, it was with rewind)
