Output Block
I think Scratch should have an output block. What that block would do is measure the output of any sounds emitted by a given sprite.
It would look like the block below, but it would be in the “Sensing” section of the blocks palette.
If you agree with me, please reply to this post. If not, then . . . oh well.

I think that's what you're suggesting
No. I think you got confused when I said “The opposite of the loudness block” what the output block is supposed to do is measure the volume of whatever sounds a sprite is playing.

No. The “volume” block controls the output of a sound. Let's say you want a circle to resize itself based on the audio output of a given sprite. That's when my "output of " block would come in handy.

This would be a cool idea, I think I'll support. The name could be a bit of an issue though, since (output) has nothing to do with sound, and (volume) already exists.
