This is an idea I have had recently, so when you go on the home page(With featured projects and more) it would be cool if it played some nice calm music while you browse scratch! I think it benefits everybody and it's much better than the plain silence and would give the website more character!(In my opinion)

What do you guys think about this idea?

I wouldn't like this idea. I think it would be better if the homepage stayed silent.

I get we're trying to invite new scratchers and keep them calm, but an abrupt change in music when you leave the page might be unsettling.

Oh, okay! I will wait for more ideas then!

No support. I'd maybe give semi-support if you were suggesting a mute button as well, but if you want music you can just play your own.

Of course there is a mute button for people who don't wanna hear it. Also, some people might prefer what scratch has rather than what they usually hear on the radio or what they listen to everyday

Here is the autoplay policy on chrome browsers

I'd assume this would apply to audio too, hence I don't believe it would be supported / I believe it would be blocked.

No support anyway, having music play on a home page of any website is out of convention of other websites, might lag more, and I don't want to accidentally blast music at full volume visiting Scratch, let alone even want music playing..

Welp, looks like not many people agree with this. So I am no longer trying to support this idea

Suggestions don't get considered based on the number of supporters, but by the suggestion itself. Again, don't give up on the idea just because people don't agree with it.

Definitely no support. If someone wanted background music while using scratch, they could play the music themselves. It could also be a hindrance to people who prefer to use Scratch in silence. Even if there was a setting to disable the music, that setting might not be seen immediately by everyone, or they just might not have the motivation to look for the setting. As I said, better to play the music yourself on different sites while using Scratch.

Scratch is not a game. Also, for reference, Kahoot music sucks so I can't expect the ST (some people) to do any better, especially after the studio update design with its bad illustrations and colors, and the Scratch! video
