When I first saw that Edge was installed on my Windows 7 laptop - I seriously thought I got infected with malware, since I didn't install anything, and after I turn on my laptop, I see that Windows is “fixing” something (startup repair) and then I see this browser installed. Saying that it's “fixing” something and continuing to install something without your permission is absolutely horrible - no software should do that.

I really don't like that level of self promotion from a company. It's one of the reasons I switched to firefox.
Nothing here.

https://youtu.be/SJkCCtXRRDMi think installing edge on windows 7 is reasonable and to an extend sort of does count as fixing, since windows explorer is very old and very insecure.

'self promotion' is a positive connotation, so it's better to call it an advertisement.I really don't like that level of self promotion from a company. It's one of the reasons I switched to firefox.

actually i already had chrome and firefox installed (I never used IE a lot, except once or twice) so installing without asking was totally unnecessary. i think installing edge on windows 7 is reasonable and to an extend sort of does count as fixing, since windows explorer is very old and very insecure.

medians: Oh god not this utc - 12 thing again..
Fun_Cupcake_i81: What, were you expecting not to see the utc - 12 thing again? THE UTC - 12 THIGN ALWAYS RETURNS. ALWAYS.
medians: I knew it would happen. I was the one who started it last year.
Fun_Cupcake_i81: Well then if you didn't want it back maybe you need to time travel to last year and fix that
Oh wait if you could time travel I think we all know exactly when you would go-
user1: That picture is from 2.0. Now he’s at my house and is my pet.
user2: But this is medians we're talking about, so “from 2.0” can mean the same thing as “from five seconds ago”.

I use Edge for several reasons:
- It comes with Windows 10/11
- It's way more efficient with RAM than Chrome is
- I don't have to give Google my data
- VERTICAL TABS!!
- definitely a bunch of other reasons i forgot to list
i really gotta update this, postpercent doesn't even work anymore

Edge is more CPU hungry if your device isn't from 2035 Hai!!
I prefer “Edge” over “Chrome” due to Chrome being memory & CPU hungry ..
