Why not make it ?query=… instead of ?q=…?You could and it might make it just slightly less vauge

That is a good point. What would happen if the query weren't programmed? Would it return a 404 error or would that have to be coded, likeIf there's no query, “query exists” will be false and “query” will be blank.

well, for one, you should be able to set them, also maybe have many, so you can make saves, but also not everyone knows what a query parameter is

I can see how this would be useful regarding retrieving information (and saving as a subset of that); support.
