Scratch and its servers run on donations - you are not forced to pay, but you can donate if you actually can and want to. So money is still important to Scratch.

Aha. I found a loophole. You can buy merch with PayPal, which indirectly donates. The issue is though, that not 100% of your donation is getting to Scratch, as some of it is being used to make the merch.

No, you can't. Not all PayPal accounts have credit cards attached to them. They may be attached to bank accounts or not at all, and paying out of PayPal wallet. Second, what inconvenience would it have to you for there to be PayPal? This is one of the reasons why people hate Suggestions, because people are just trying to come up up with a reason to say “No support”

The only reason ST hasn't turned money-obsessed is because they are non-profit.
