I guess I should clarify; what I meant is that the ST already gives you free reign to upload any audio you want into the editor without any form of automated screening - which is why report buttons exist. I don't see how being able to upload audio to your profile would be any different.I don't get what you are saying here. Disable audio uploading? I was talking about if it is disabled and you need to choose audio, but where do these audio come from? By millions of lines of code and uploads of these songs that the ST needs to do. Read my original post.Do you think it's possible to let every ST member upload these songs, listen to them, and mute these bad words every minute? If that's the case, then we should also disable audio uploading in the Scratch editor to make sure nobody uploads a song with bad words in it.

I don't support this.
I don't really see the point of this. Other people have said above that people could upload inappropriate or ear-bleed-inducing audio.

I think it's a cool idea but personalisation can be done in better ways. What happens if there is an annoying song playing? A song that makes you upset? I don't want to hear rickrolls on scratch 24/7 whilst I listen to amog us drip. This may have copyright issues, and scratch literally has a rule where you can't share projects where music is the main focus. This would make profiles have a massive focus on the music. I guess you could do sounds from scratch sound library, but that would kinda defeat the purpose as they basically just 10-20 second soundtracks.

The amount of space this would take is way too much. There are ~78 million users on Scratch. Assuming only 10% of them add music to their profile, that would be 7 million songs. Let's assume all of them are about 20 seconds long and are mp3's at 92kbps (I think that's the way to store music with the least file size). 16 GB can hold 398 hours of music, which is 71,620 20-second long music files. Now, we divide 7 million songs by the 71,260 that can be stored in 16 GB. You'd need just above 108 times 16 GB to store all those songs, which is 1728 GB in total, or about 1.73 TB. All that just for songs.

There could be a mute option where when you go on a profile and a song plays you can press a button which will mute the song

- Do you know how many reports they should look into every day? Let's don't talk about the number and see how long it will take for the official SCC studio's spam comments to be deleted - 1 month.
- Let's assume if the ST deal with one report in 10 minutes, there are now 10 reports after the ST starts to work and every minute there is one report (including mass reports) by average and after a minute, there are 11 reports, after 9 minutes, the first report is done but now nine reports came! So yes, after 10 minutes the ST starts working, there are 19 reports. It is hard to imagine how fast the report number grows. That's why Scratch has stuff like Filterbot - to avoid misuse of the reports.
- By what I've said above, if every user has either an amazing or toxic song on their profile, and then Scratch has no deal with not only project reports, comment reports, forum reports, and also MOOSIC REPORTS. That's like dealing with 125% of reports more than now.
- Some amazing and precious music with no bad words - have copyright. C-O-P-Y-R-I-G-H-T it's a serious thing. If Scratch has uploaded ALL SONGS they will receive thousands of emails.
- Loudness and high-pitch (except for the sound bats makes which you cannot hear) are the two enemies of human ears. I think I don't have to explain.
- Now let's talk about if it's disabled, the ST should Google a song, get copyright, and upload the songs faster than the speed of the wind. If you still don't understand, read my OP and my quote to Bedtime Math AGAIN.
- It does not help with either creating, programming, or sharing - Scratch's motto.
- What if a person who just want to quietly browse Scratch sites - and they go to their extroverted Scratch friend's profile, and suddenly, “hey I just met you and this is crazy” starts playing? This is like a jumpscqre.
- I believe some people don't have a headphone - just like Chinese children don't have a Merry Christmas tree.

no support. reasons why:
1. COPYRIGHT- that will literally hunt scratch down
2. extra strain to servers, and plus it'll cost more to keep those up
3. inappropriate music/loud music would take forever to report because the ST receives many reports everyday
4. fanbases. reason why i say this is because there will be people falsely reporting someone's profile just because they hate the song
5. its not really educational or necessary

I agree. And someone would not like to hear music they HATE on another profile…

But what if there would be a mute button? Simple: If they dont wanna hear the song, they can just press a button that will mute the song, I've already said that like 2 or 3 times

I heard people are saying that songs would get copyrighted then. But, how come songs we upload to our projects dont get copyrighted claim? The songs we would play on our profiles wouldnt get copyrighted then too
Another thing, MUTE BUTTONS WOULD EXIST. I heard you guys were saying that kids would upload rick-rolls or ear-bleeding music, BUT THEN THINK ABOUT IT, A MUTE BUTTON COULD EXIST TOO. I'VE SAID THAT SO MANY TIMES ALREADY. You could just press the button if you don't wanna hear the song, and boom here you go. Is it that much? I don't think so!
Scratch Team won't care if it's educacional, Scratch doesn't have to be all about education, would a song simply playing from someone's profile cause that much problem with education? It's like listening to some songs you are playing on Youtube while studying. I think it would be also more fun so yee.
Scratch Team isn't that stupid too so if they see someone reporting the song for no reason they can just ignore it!

Someone could just upload a jumpscare, and even if there was a mute button, you still have to click it, and most people can't do that instantly.
