Ah - that's a good point! I guess it is possible for users to just check the date of the first post rather than the last one that added to the discussion, so this will definitely need to be addressed. Thanks for pointing that out!

I thought this was an old abandoned topic but it's not! I actually got a post reported for a post in a forum from 3 years ago ;-;

Now I know what Necroposting means and that u get mass reported if u do it. And my necropost caused a lot of others to post there, too. OOPS

Honestly - I felt as though they could have responded differently. I guess there's quite a bit about the forum culture that could use some improvements, including how others handle necroposting.

Don't worry about what happened. Everyone makes mistakes from time to time - but what matters is the recovery. I'm glad that you now understand what necroposting is. It's all a learning experience - and you're not the only one that has done it before.

and Itopic means that the post was stickied before and it was unsticked to prevent clutter in the first page
