thats the goal i think. it's not meant to be something you do everyday.

they also deleted the original from cubeupload.

Theoretically you can now “get around” the New Scratcher studio restriction, as you could have someone else make a studio for you, and then have them transfer the ownership to you.

The ST might have thought about that when they were making studio transfers, and made it so you can't transfer studio ownership to New Scratchers. I'm not sure though, I would test it out, but I have no alts that have the New Scratcher status

i think they meant that it was just an old mockup or something like that. - i don't think photo editing software can accidently add a new button because of a bug
