Last post was March of 2016, so I'm not sure if this counts as necroposting, for if it even matters for that sake (god it's been forever since I've visited the forums).

Anyhoo, I've been binging the Half-Life series during quarantine, and so far I've beaten Half-Life 1, Half-Life 2, and the first episode. I think I'm gonna start Opposing Force and finish the second episode soon. I should've played the games in order, rather than HL2-HL2:EP1-HL1, but it don't matter. I've always found Blue Shift to be the worst game in the series, despite never finishing it, so I hope it's better once I wrap it up.

I also think I will finish Portal 2 after or before Blue Shift, but who knows.

EDIT: So I've finished Opforc and Blue Shift since I posted this. I was surprised to find that Blue Shift was a lot more fun than Opforc. The map design felt so much more unique and fun to play in, and I didn't have to struggle with dozens of guns that don't have many uses. I've also gotten into speedrunning Blue Shift, but I'm not good at it just yet. I can bhop, not very well though. Anyway, I got 5:46.16 on the training course and I'm pretty proud. I think I'll finish Ep2 soon and maybe then Portal 2.

I might get a Oculus Quest 2 for Christmas this year, is it worth buying the newest half-life game there? I am interested in the series, and wanted some noteworthy games on it.

I have the Orange Box for the Xbox 360, which gives all of Half Life 2 and its episodes, Portal 1, and Team Fortress 2. It's an amazing deal, even better than that I'd say. A little off-topic, but the tf2 servers are still up and active on there.

Has anybody modded Half live 2? i modded my crossbow into a toaster

i just found out dr breens city-17 video things are actually rendered or whatever in real time, so if you use noclip and go out of bounds to the “recording location”, you can actually shoot breen and the video will stop, sometimes even putting “red paint” on the screen.

black mesa is cool

one of my favorite parts of the first half life games are that you can always move your camera around, while at times movement may be restricted or very limited, you always have control over the camera, making it feel like your the one controlling the story, like you actually ARE the main character.

Yeah HLVR:AI is really funny, but I kinda think Half-Life: Alyx but the gnome is too aware is a little bit funnier.
