Support, this would help Scratchers get noticed.Limit followers: (NS: 10) (S: 50) Does that sound good?I don't think there should be a follow limit.
The purpose of a follow limit is so that any featured individuals aren't too popular already, which basically goes back to square 1: Famous users get more attention, while the rest are left out.

I’m not sure about the follower limit as someone who has more followers than that may still deserve more recognition. I think it should just be people that the ST think they contribute to the community a lot and deserve more recognition. There could even be a “learn more” button saying why that user was picked

While this does seem like a good suggestion, it might be hard to program. Also, the featured scratchers the first week, maybe two, will be people like griffpatch or Will_Wam. On a side note, the scratchers that don't get featured will be upset and might show it in projects or studios. So NO SUPPORT.

While this does seem like a good suggestion, it might be hard to program.I'm more concerned on how it would fit on the front page, assuming the front page hosts the featured users section. Currently, we have the news, what's happening then rows of projects. Where would a featured user fit in all of this?

I Half-Support. While this would be a good way for kind/helpful/underrated Scratchers to get noticed, I feel there would be a lot of this:I saw you got featured. That will never happen to me.Or:@SomePerson got featured! Why does the Scratch Team notice them, but not me?!?That is the sort of negative attention it can bring. That can also happen with featured projects and studios, but I feel like more people would feel unnoticed/left out if the main focus was the user and not their projects/studios. But if they make really cool projects and aren't getting many views on them, or they are friendly and helpful in the community, then I do think there should be a way to feature users. So I Semi-Support this.
This can have a separation of users.

Support! It would give New scratchers a bit of motivation! Maybe it could randomly choose a New scratcher with 1-50 followers and a scratcher with 1-30 followers each week, so the underrated scratchers could have a chance!

Featured Scratchers should be personally hand-picked.

Imagine this: griffpatch gets featured. He doesn't need it at all. he can get that attention himselfThe purpose of a follow limit is so that any featured individuals aren't too popular already, which basically goes back to square 1: Famous users get more attention, while the rest are left out.I still don't think there should be a follow limit.

As I said earlier, the Scratch Team should hand-pick users to be featured every week, and they won't do so if they think the user already has enough attention.Imagine this: griffpatch gets featured. He doesn't need it at all. he can get that attention himselfThe purpose of a follow limit is so that any featured individuals aren't too popular already, which basically goes back to square 1: Famous users get more attention, while the rest are left out.I still don't think there should be a follow limit.

With the follow limit that low, we might as well not have this feature at all, people will probably only be featured for about 10 seconds before they are over the follow limit.

No support. This could cause a lot of drama, such as users bragging about getting featured, users getting hate because of jealous users, users complaining about not getting featured, users accusing the ST of showing favorites, featured users getting spam… The list goes on and on. Besides, Scratch isn't about fame, and there's not really anything beneficial to Scratch about this suggestion. It just benefits the lucky users on here, and I'm not sure it's such a great idea.

No support. There are a lot of good users with more than 50 followers.

I came from a duplicate topic. No Support. Other users might get angry and argue that they also deserved to be on the featured scratchers row, as how good they are is mainly subjective. Good projects, high-effort projects, high-quality projects, unique projects, respectful comments… what exactly are the criteria for a scratcher to be featured?
