Updates! November 12th, 2014

Howdy!

We have another round of Wednesday updates for you all.

- Added new assets to the Scratch editor. Can you find them all? (Hint: New sprites, background, and sound)
- Optimized graphics rendering in editor. That means visual and color effect blocks will produce better looking results! Woo!
- New “Pong” tutorial in the Scratch editor.
- Added a Press page to keep track of all the awesome news articles about Scratch. A link to that page lives in the website footer.

edit: cool backdrop! I haven't used the sprite library for a while so I don't know what new stuff was added this update

As a long time Scratcher, I have found new meaning to the name “Scratch”: for me, it means to “scratch that itch”, to come back again and again to realize new ideas in this toy language, even when I'm capable of creating my projects in real programming languages years later. It's a friend that helped me to pursue programming and get me to enjoy its fruit. I'm certain many others who have walked this path as well have grown fond of its importance in their life.

Awesome, but I really think that there should be a block for save files in your game, so you don't have to put in a code to continue. Maybe it should use browser cookies?

Optimized graphics! Yes!
(I'm always mad that I'm not first to the updates - I live in the wrong time zone. And kind of jealous about those who get there first… not trying to sound critical; just being honest.)
