THATS not a dupe, it’s suggesting to add round profile pictures while this one is allowing us to crop non square images into square images.

Support - It's somewhat infuriating when the pfp looks too wide/thin b/c the image wasn't square, so having the ability to snip it into a square would be very nice.

This would be very useful, instead of ising some sketchy 3rd party software. Other websites already let you do this, and its really inconvenient to not be able to do it here.

Why? Your image is perfectly square so you can just scale it up to the maximum size to have no crop at all.

They would be cropped the same way as normal pictures. It's not like that GIFs can change in size between frames.

If you want to do image editing, I recommend the free software FireAlpaca. It gets the job done and is really helpful for art in general. FireAlpaca is a good workaround until we get a proper icon cropper.
For mobile there’s ibisPaint and MediBang. Both are free programs and are *very* good!
