Why are you always harping on the fact that I want to remove an essential forums thing? Isn't it related to OP? (bump )

It's entirely up to the studio owner and the managers what they call their studio, and who they want in their studio, and as long as the name and requirements don't break the Scratch rules they're free to set whatever name and requirements they like.

Just because it's called “best scratchers” doesn't mean it IS best scratchers, and it doesn't mean someone who thinks they are a best scratcher has an automatic entitlement to join.

Definite support. I once wanted to get an intro from a studio I found, but upon closer inspection, I saw that you had to have 100 followers. The person running it said they didn’t want to get flooded with requests, but…

This should also go the other way, like Underrated Scratchers studios with a requirement of under 35 followers or something. (I’ve seen some.)

No support. I feel that studios like “older scratchers (must be x years old on scratch to join)” type studios and “underrated scratchers (must have less than x followers to join)” and “popular scratchers (must have x or more followers)” are fine, because there is always a studio for you.
