What is the difference between “trending” and “popular” on the explore page and the search page?

They probably use different timespans. Like, trending could be projects with a lot of loves, favs, and views in a week, while popular could be that but within a year.

I know for sure that popular doesn't show the most popular projects ever, but as dhuls said, maybe a year or 6 months or something like that, otherwise griffpatch's projects would be all over popular!

After looking at the release dates of the projects on popular, they all seem to be from within ~6 months.
