How about the scratch team LISTENING to criticism for once
It seems like the scratch team does not care a bit about anyone's input and keeps making these awful decisions for Scratch 3.0. When people complained about how bad this website is at 3.0's launch, they just completely ignore them. They had two years to improve their website and now they're downgrading parts of the website, how about fixing this mess instead of just getting rid of features that people liked and used a lot. The scratch team ignored people's criticisms and just pretended everything was fine, parading new and useless features to this website, and changed absolutely nothing. Don't try to remove or change features that were good, either fix problems you made or people are going to leave your website for dead, people don't have time for your shenanigans.

Yeah, criticism is apparently against the guidelines… I mean, I had two projects taken down for it just today! XD

Wow the scratch team is really censorship heavy, not only did they remove my post for a stupid no advertising extensions rule but they also had the audacity to remove my signature because it criticized them, is the scratch team really that butthurt about being criticized? Image of my inbox: h tt p s: // lh3 .googleusercontent.com/-mMWNR2H9-us/YPH5_4ZwA-I/AAAAAAAAD-A/sR9UK5x7paAnC8P0pSKSSGp4_t1vRh84ACLcBGAsYHQ/s512/Screenshot%2B2021-07-16%2B5.04.21%2BPM . p n g
This was practically just censorship of what is a sensible recommendation to a user about changing back from a studio update they don't like. The policy seems like a band aid fix for what is *not great* moderation on this website, getting rid of something because of one sour lemon when everyone else was doing quite fine is not a good thing.
No, we would rather not have useful extensions being recommended to people, we would rather them be in blissful ignorance of a solution the scratch team couldn't provide. We would rather not have the toss dish of criticism from users that are unhappy about their service and being lied to, we'd rather ignore criticism.
Edit: 18:34: removed last paragraph because of a bad point of mine.

Rotten WebsitesAh yes, Rotten Websites, which itself, is a rotten website. A source so unreliable that nobody takes it seriously. The amount of double standards they have is too much for them to be even considered reliable.
Go ahead, leave. It's not like you are one out of 74,294,201 users.
Most “criticism” I see is just angry users ranting about things they don't like (like this one) without actually providing helpful ways to fix issues. And yes, the ST can take criticism. Look at this studio. It was made in protest of the new update, and it still exists. Do you wanna know why? It's because they aren't ranting, unlike you.

Okie I agree with you, but that was a rather rude way of putting it…
Long story short “Rotten Websites” isn't trust worthy at all. If you don't like the choices scratch is making, then don't complain about it and remember: You can always leave if you'd like. Even I have my problems with scratch, there are many points about their political views that i dissagree with a LOT. But that doens't mean i'm gonna complain about it!
(Well actually partly bc i know that the ST are gonna ban and mute me if i do haha)We should be allowed to voice our say and not get banned or muted for it. But don't use Rotten Websites for that. It's not trust worthy at all.

Well that's not exactly taking criticism since they don't actually listen to anything, that's just ignoring everyone, scratch team isn't exactly transparent. I would really recommend the scratch team being more transparent, announcing then asking beforehand and not lying to the scratch community about adding new features. A lot of people wouldn't be angry if this thing wasn't forced upon them like this, the scratch team going behind people's back and changing studios and saying they won't change it back is kind of rude thing to do. This situation wouldn't have happened if they were more open about updates.

The scratch team does listen. Keep in mind, you also have to listen to them. They own this website, and you didn't pay to use it. Therefore, they get to decide the rules.

, the scratch team going behind people's back and changing studios and saying they won't change it back is kind of rude thing to do.Changing a key feature of the site from an outdated hard to maintain 2013 Django-based system to an updated easy to maintain 2019 React-based system isn't exactly a rude thing to do. It is their website after all. However, I do agree that they should be more transparent in their development process.
They:
- Ignored all criticism on the GitHub pull requests
- Closed a PR to prevent discussion/criticism
- Updated without prior notification

What is a suggestion without its context and rationality?
If you are mentioning the studio updates, please take a look at this thread, and discuss in the given links.

Please use the Suggestions forum if you have any specific suggestions on how to improve the Scratch website or editor. If we did not listen to constructive criticism, then we would not have a Suggestions forum.
