Putting songs from GarageBand into Scratch
Note: I know a solution now, thank you everyone for trying to help!
Hey, I made a little song in GarageBand and when I try to upload it into Scratch it will not let me. I saw other topics about this, but they are 7 years old and the methods that people suggested on them did not work. Anyone know how to do this?

what is the format? .wav or .mp3? If it's .wav, then you should use a converter to convert it from wav to mp3. If it's already mp3, then that means that the file is too long so in that case you will need to cut it in parts. If the format isn't neither wav or mp3, then convert it to mp3.

Even if a file is well above the size limit, it will still import successfully if it's the right type - you just won't be able to save. what is the format? .wav or .mp3? @shadowsapphire: Just to be abundantly clear, the reason the file won't import is that it is not of a supported type (WAV or MP3), and you need to convert it to one of those formats (I recommend you choose MP3). After you've done that, make sure that the file isn't over 10 MB in size - Scratch imposes an asset size limit of 10 MB (assets are sounds or costumes), and if you have any assets in your project bigger than that, your project won't save.

I'd suggest downloading as .WAV or MP3. otherwise use a converter. Hopefully the file (music) isn't too long and will save

I’ve tried, but the online website have said there is a problem. The song is quite short, and since the websites say it’s a problem with the file, I don’t think it has anything to do with Scratch.Even if a file is well above the size limit, it will still import successfully if it's the right type - you just won't be able to save. what is the format? .wav or .mp3? I have tried, but the converter websites say that something is wrong. It does not specify what that thing is. what is the format? .wav or .mp3? Lol, I accidentally tapped Report instead of Quote on first try. Anyway, as I have said to others, it will not let me convert it. I'd suggest downloading as .WAV or MP3. otherwise use a converter. Hopefully the file (music) isn't too long and will save

You don't need to convert it; GarageBand can export into a format supported by Scratch.
Are you using GarageBand on iOS (iPhone/iPad/etc.) or MacOS?

Oops, forgot to answer to @D-ScratchNinja. I’m on iPad. You don't need to convert it; GarageBand can export into a format supported by Scratch.

Share the file (it’ll be an .m4a) from GarageBand. Run the file through Zamzar (file conversion website) and convert it to an MP3. Import to scratch via hitting browse instead of photo library when you hit upload sound.Oops, forgot to answer to @D-ScratchNinja. I’m on iPad. Simple tutorial over, I’m not experienced with GarageBand but I’ve done this with voice memos before so this may work.

I think that Voice Memos is a different file from GarageBand. When I put the file in, the option for mp3 disappeared.Share the file (it’ll be an .m4a) from GarageBand. To export the file from GarageBand, first go to the files page and find your song. Hold down on it, press share, then song. A box will pop up with a bunch of different quality options. Select “Uncompressed (WAV).” You probably also want to change the “My Info” section to make sure it doesn’t include your name. Press export.
The main advantage of mp3 over wav is that mp3s are smaller, so unless your song is greater than 10 MB as a wav, I wouldn’t worry about converting it.

Edit— Wait, nvm! I was in Files instead of GarageBand.
