Don't allow users with less than 100 posts to post in Announcements
I'm kind of sitting on the fence here. On one hand, this is a really good implementation as the Announcements page is really filled with irrelevant posts and it can be annoying to scroll through all of them before actually finding a good reply.
On the other hand, I found @coder2045's reasons quite true as well. (Other than reason number 2; the aim of posting on the forums shouldn't be to get a bigger count, just like how sharing projects on scratch shouldn't be to get followers.) Reasons 1, 3 and 4 are definitely valid and I think introducing the OP's implementation can open up a whole new set of unpredictable problems.
In conclusion, I don't have a final decision here.

No Support. It would help prevent spam, but:
1. People might click the 2nd section and spam there.
2. It took me 3 months to get 100 posts (mostly because I couldn't find good topics)
3. I think the Announcement section would get less spam because there's only about 1-3 topics open at a time and I think it's one of the least interesting sections.
4. I also think people would be more motivated to spam because they would want to get 100 posts to “unlock” the Announcements section.
In conclusion, I don't have a final decision here.

If you really must, let me explain why people aren't going to get anywhere by spamming

The amount of notifications I am getting from this is horrendous.]Then don’t follow the topic?
I have only two followed topics that are not my own.
Support, though this may be rejected:
8.2 Add a rank above Scratcher or allow users to skip the New Scratcher statusThis seems like a “rank above scratcher”.
There are three ranks: New Scratcher, Scratcher, and Scratch Team. The only reason the New Scratcher rank exists is to prevent spam, and since it only takes a few weeks to become a Scratcher, bullying and separation are rather minimal. Similarly, the Scratch Team rank exists so users know who is on the Scratch Team; generally, Scratch Team members do not brag about the Scratch Team rank. In contrast, there may be division in the community between Scratchers and those with a higher rank, which could also lead to bragging and bullying. This also includes a “verified Scratcher” status where well-known Scratchers get a special symbol next to their name.

People WILL spam. They don't have to spam all 100 posts. They can just go into the scratchblocks testing topic and go nuts.I’m not sure if everyone is that dedicated and is well, this wills till severely cut down spam.

This seems like a “rank above scratcher”.How? It isn't a rank above scratcher, it's the ability to post on announcements once you reach a certain amount of posts. It's no more a rank than being in The Forum Helpers,

The amount of notifications I am getting from this is horrendous. Please, oh please, tell me then… why there is massive amounts of spam that are still up in the Announcements forum.
If you really must, let me explain why people aren't going to get anywhere by spammingAnd that won't count in the list of 100 posts

Then please tell me how people with 100+ posts still spam the same amount as those with less than 100.

Support, there is so much spam, especially in the Scratch Week topics. But would it allow 500+ instead of 100+? Because spammers can spam to 100+ posts.Spamming to 100 posts would take 1h 40m when accounting for the 60 second rule (and assuming they have 100% accuracy) and 3h 20m with the 120 second rule. I think you would probably get banned before getting enough posts.

Posts in TiMaC, TiRaP, the ATs, the Dustbin, and the official [scratchblocks] testing threads should not count towards 100 posts.

Posts in TiMaC, TiRaP, the ATs, the Dustbin, and the official [scratchblocks] testing threads should not count towards 100 posts.I disagree. We've already established that you can't spam to 100 posts without getting into trouble so I feel like this is just unnecessary and a lot of work on the Scratch Team if they implemented this.

I also disagree, but for a different reason. TiMaC, TiRaP, and the ATs, all could use people giving constructive feedback (e.g. pointing out dupes). You can't post in the dustbin. And, it would be way too difficult to make posts in one topic not count towards 100 posts.Posts in TiMaC, TiRaP, the ATs, the Dustbin, and the official [scratchblocks] testing threads should not count towards 100 posts.I disagree. Wow. Has anyone thought about what they want the pop-up to say that denies someone from posting a response?
“Sorry but you have posted less than 100 posts which means you could not possibly understand when you are posting a message in which the “content is not-contributing to the topic and is annoying to others (Paddle2see’s words for Spam, not mine)”
What is someone supposed to think when they get that message?
I keep thinking that, from the very movement someone is given the ability to comment and post messages, they should be given the clear message that posting anything that is “not-contributing to the topic and is annoying to others” could result in being punished by the Scratch Team including being banned.

That’s seems the best. It doesn’t need to much information as it may encourage others to spam around the forums, but also still tells them why. Also, it sounds like a ST message, a few start with: sorry, …Wow. Has anyone thought about what they want the pop-up to say that denies someone from posting a response? How about:

.. tells them why.I can’t see how it is telling them why. It tells them that this is a unofficial Scratcher ranking of 100+ posts to be able to post on certain topics but I can’t see how it tells them why.
I’m still wondering what is the process you see that leads to better behavior?
