That doesn't seem to fit Sunny's character.i feel like sunny just wants to believe that mari would forgive him so that sunny can feel better about himselfwould mari forgive sunny if she survivedIt's implied that she would, dream world Mari tells Sunny that she hopes he can forgive himself and get happiness again.
He in no way in the game believes he is a good person, spoilers below
you can see this in the omori boss fight, because omori is sunny, so everything he has said is what Sunny has believed for the past 4 years, and the final duet symbolizes sunny finally getting over his guilt, and forgiving himself, so I don't believe that's it.

No, its halfway real as well, in real world you see the actual photos. Sunny doesn't remember what the picture was exactly like, for example with the feet pic thing, it was actually just basil taking a picture of all their shoes lol. He didnt give his friends this personality in the dreamworld he just exaggerated their personalities over the top. They were like this 4 years ago but less idealized like how sunny made it seem. spoilers: He wants everything to be amazing and wow happy fun time, in the dream world. thats why they're all nice and stuff. Omori is the one trying to get Sunny to notice all the bad stuff happening, it is Sunnys goal to tell the others to tell the truth as well, bringing in the trauma too. Creating blackspace.
