remove the thing that shows the scratch cat when ever you make a project

removing the scratch cat from new projects is like removing the default cube in blender

Obviously you haven't gone through the pain of creating 10 projects in quick succession and having to remove Scratch Cat every. single. time. Make it automatically disappear when you become a scratcher. If you're a scratcher and don't know how to move around sprites, there may be something wrong with you.

Nah, maybe not there. Why not here?

And then when “Project Settings” is clicked, you get options on project stuff! For example, you can choose to remove scratch cat, message 1, or start with a certain sprite, sounds, or lines of code (you do this by selecting them from your backpack).
Ok, Project Settings isn't a very fitting name. But you get the idea.

It takes 5 seconds to click the trashcan. Is 5 seconds really all that difficult?

Edit: also no support for reasons Za-Chary gave and also the fact that it isn't even that difficult to remove the sprite

Yes, I don't like wasting time getting coding or doing art, especially when an idea is on the tip of my mind
Also I don't like deleting the Scratch Cat sprite all together because then you have to move the x and y back to 0, 0 from the 34, 20-something that it always defaults to. In general, I've seen a lot of wanting Scratch Cat not there, and I think it would be a good QOL.

Five seconds. How would you even forget literally everything you were doing in a span of five seconds? It takes more time for the project to load even.

Are you implying just to leave the default sprite blank instead of putting Scratch Cat costumes? It seems redundant and a waste of resources to program an entire feature in that deletes it for you, when you could manually delete it in, y'know, five seconds.

Sorry if I'm coming off as rude

0 support. Removing that would make the main mascot less popular and make the editor more boring and empty.

It would be in the settings that you can start blank, but that would only be enabled in Scratcher rank, also, it would be on top of the my stuff interface.

I think it should show at first for New Scratchers, but then once they graduate to Scratchers it should go away.

edit: I actually like the idea mentioned before, where you can turn it on and off in settings once you are a Scratcher. But if it's in settings, I don't see why New Scratchers shouldn't be able to turn it on and off as well.

Furthermore, is it really that hard to click the delete button? I find that the Scratch Cat sprite can be comforting, sometimes. If it's blank and I don't have an idea, sometimes it's intimidating.

Is it really that hard to repurpose the default Scratch Cat, My Variable, and Broadcast1? Semi-support. It should be an option, and it should not be selected by default.

Nah - we need a default sprite so a new user can familiarise the blocks in a sprite.

Then perhaps it can be a default sprite for New Scratchers and a blank project for Scratchers

Either way, I just go inside the costume editor and delete the cat (If he/she's not needed), and perhaps remove the costumes, etc.

IDC, I have no problem with this (with Scratch Cat being the default sprite), no support sorry.

I mean, it's not obvious to everyone. The first day I downloaded the Scratch 1.4 offline editor, I spent all night trying to figure out how to click and drag a script so I could program my own code. I was 12 years old at the time. Certainly there are other new Scratchers out there who get confused with the Scratch editor for their first time at that age, or younger.

LOL, just like me when I started using Scratch 3. I was like, What???????????. I had no idea how to use Scratch 3. It was quite confusing for me, and don't get me started on when I started Scratch at all. LOL

Nope. Some Scratchers prefer to start with Scratch Cat. This is why the best resolution is to leave it to user choice in my opinion.

What's so hard about clicking the trash can? It takes only about 3 seconds. No support.

I don't say “quality of life hurr durr” for nothing. You know, Scratch could have chose to have all their measurements off in their webpage design, but they saved our eyes and they designed it well.
