Is DDLC banned?
Hello! I'm froppy_frop, an anime and manga lover, a video game enthusiast, and so much more. I am a big fan of a horror game called Doki Doki Literature Club, more commonly known as DDLC. I tried searching it up on Scratch to see if people had made animations, but nothing was found. I looked and found that FNAF (Five Nights At Freddy's), another horror game, was prevented by a search filter. I completely understand why games like these should be banned, but shouldn't the animations and non-scary stuff be allowed? ST does a bang-up job of moderating things, so I just don't understand. I'm also wondering if you can get banned for posting stuff like DDLC and FNAF. If you aren't sure, here is a brief description of DDLC from Wikipedia.
Doki Doki Literature Club! is a 2017 American freeware visual novel developed by Team Salvato for Microsoft Windows, macOS, and Linux. The game was initially distributed through itch.io and later became available on Steam. The story is told from the perspective of a male high school student who joins the school's literature club in an attempt to woo one of its four female members. Doki Doki Literature Club! features a non-traditional plot structure with multiple endings and unlockable cutscenes with each of the main characters. Although this game initially appears to be a lighthearted dating simulator, it is in fact a horror game that extensively breaks the fourth wall.
The game was developed in an estimated two-year period by a team led by Dan Salvato, previously known for his modding work as part of Project M. According to Salvato, the inspiration for the game came from his mixed feelings toward anime and a fascination for surreal and unsettling experiences. Upon its release, Doki Doki Literature Club! received positive critical attention for its successful use of horror elements and unconventional nature within the visual novel genre. The game also inspired internet memes and achieved a large following online.
Some things in DDLC:
-Suicide+self-harm
-Heavy talk about depression
-Mentions of neglect and abuse
-Sexual references
-Jumpscares
These things are pretty bad, I understand, but what about clean and non-explicit DDLC projects?

Projects referencing things like FNAF or DDLC but don't break any rules are allowed, however Scratch has just implemented a really weird search filter for some reason. Pro-tip, you can go around it by simply adding a dash “-” at the end of the search query.

Probably because hiding projects from the public prevents people from seeing them, though I didn't see anything bad.oh man. i saw a lot of Projects referencing things like FNAF or DDLC but don't break any rules are allowed, however Scratch has just implemented a really weird search filter for some reason. Like fdreerf said, weird search filters. I'm assuming it won't harm you if you post that content because there is a NFE (not for everyone) tag on some projects. The only case I know that gets a project set to that is using animated thumbnails, but otherwise I have no clue how projects are marked.

It is not banned, but FNAF isn't banned either. Just make sure the content isn't too scary (Gore, jumpscares, swear words ect).

from what I can tell, most people seem to think it's at least 13+ (even the developer said that), so I would say yes, unless you can find a way to remove certain parts of it.
