It's because the audio is way too big. Try using another one, trimming it, or cutting it into pieces.

When I try to upload it works, but then it won't save. It says Project could not save.

I also have this problem. I save sounds at other websites and when I attempt to upload sounds, it wont let me upload any sounds as I was on a desktop. Why sound uploader? WHYYYYYYYYYYY?!!?

The problem is scratch can't load large mp3 files, you can download mp3 but if the length of the audio is a certain amount it won't save. But I found a way to prevent this most of the time. Chop of a section of the song then save. Then press undo and the deleted portion of the song will return and then scratch will let you save it for some reason. That didn't work recently, but then I did it for another song nd it worked fine. Still wave files are your best option.

Yeah scratch has a problem with downloading audio files a certain size that are mp3. I found out if you delete enough of the song that scratch will save then you press undo bring the other part of the song back, and then for some reason it will save. But I did it to download a song called TIME and it wouldn't work, but it worked with all my beep box songs.

Actually it only won't save after a beep box mp3 to scratch if it is too long. I just chop a part of the audio recording off so it will save, then press undo and add the audio back, AND THEN FOR SOME REASON IT WILL SAVE. Still I tried this with a non beep box song and it didn't work for some reason.

Why is everyone necroposting on this topic? If you're having issues with the sound editor, make a new topic about it.
This topic was originally about the 2.0 sound editor anyways (because it was created in 2013) so it has nothing to do with your issues with the 3.0 sound editor.
