people's thoughts on game contests on Scratch?

in my personal opinion, game contests on Scratch with the reward being something like a profile picture, or a free drawing are totally cool, but a lot of these contests have rewards such as 50-200 followers, and I believe this promotes the social media aspect of Scratch, whether there is one or not. However, I'd like to know other people's thoughts on game contests, (with the reward being followers) or at the very least just one person's opinion. It's totally fine if nobody wants to, but I'm just very curious. (I'd also like to know the Scratch Team's stance on follower reward game contests, if at all possible, maybe just 1 Scratch Team member.)

I agree. Scratch social actions should not be used as prizes. It is not their intended function and it promotes a “competition” mentality.

You follow someone because you want more of their content not because they have ‘won’ something.

Yes I agree, “prizes” can be given in some form of fanart rather than loves/faves/follows, it is pointless.
