This is very niche and will be very hard to do, as you will have to connect doorbells and know every scratchers location, which isn’t good to give out. It is just to complex to do and doesn’t really fit Into scratch due to safety concerns. Sorry

I don't quite understand. Also what if their doorbell is one of those noisy ones and someone does this?
Also, there's a pretty obvious workaround:
when green flag clickedTheir parents will probably just ban them from using Scratch.
forever
Ring doorbell::extension
end
Also, there's a pretty obvious workaround:
play sound [Doorbell v] until done

press flag at 3:00 am for instant funnyAgain, I'd assume that you'd have to pair your doorbell up each time you wanted to use a project with it.when green flag clicked

Guard? D'you mean like your Scratch projects can summon Armas Gigas when someone is at the front door to open it and ring the doorbell?

keep all posts respectful please
anyway, scratch should be able to have all of its blocks function properly without an internet connection (using the offline editor), and Ring is dependent upon the internet. also, privacy issues, not entirely sure how practical this is but you can feed information from users' doorbells (while the project is running) to other places, including data farms. finally, does ring even have an open api and docs? i feel like it doesn't have developer documentation but it might.

No support unless it has a pairing system with 1 doorbell otherwise some kid can really mess with other people's doorbells.Yeah.
when green flag clickedAnd if you're good at scratch, you could make a script that starts when red button clicked, and then make it so that that starts it up again.
forever
ring doorbell
end

The extension could find the nearest device with the ring app and use it.

scratch should be able to have all of its blocks function properly without an internet connection (using the offline editor)Just a reminder that these extensions are already dependent on internet connection in the offline editor:
- Text to Speech
- Translate
- Micro:bit
- LEGO EV3
- BOOST
- WeDo 2.0
- Force and Acceleration
I agree that a doorbell extension is not likely something that will be implemented, but I don't think the main reason is because they require internet connection to work.

No. Just no. This would lead to HUGE privacy data concerns, and would most likely lead to lawsuits.

Please tell me you already know how bad it is to mess with people's doorbells.
