Abandon the function to delete other people's comments on users' own profiles, and Refine "Report" form
For removing the “Delete” thing:
Semi-support.
Also.
For making the Report form much better:
Semi-support.
My opinion:
Altough it has some downsides, it could still be added. Semi-support.
Sorry if I write incorrectly, I'm not from English.
Also, I hope my criticism was constructive.
Semi-support.
- It annoys some people.
If you really want to delete a comment, you would have to report it.
Also.
Deleting comments can also be useful to delete accidental duplicate, comments with typos, accidental posted comments, or just outdated comments. It will also create a huge burden on the moderators. They don't remove a lot of inappropriate content for a year already._________________________________________
For making the Report form much better:
Semi-support.
- There would be some people that might want to clean their profile and just say on the Report forum:
“I wanna make my profile look clean”, as mentioned before.

One more thing.
Lists of suggestions are not allowed. The reason why is so each topic is focused on one point, not any more. Lists tend to centralize around one suggestion. That means that users in the topic tend to discuss one suggestion mainly anyway, debating over one point.

I don't think a user should be able to control all the contents in their profile.
The reason why I think so is below.
Scratch is not a general purpose homepage service.
It is just a user profile page in the Scratch designed for “Imagine, Program, Share”.
Users can do the following at the profile:
- introduce themselves
- have a little conversations with others
- receive some feedbacks from others
etc.
(RPGs and so on are not prohibited, but not better use.)
If this is an external user site (if refered by Scratch, it must suit the Scrach Community Guidelines),
it is obviously no problem to control all the contents.

Essence of my opinion hasn't changed, it is also applicable to the objections.
Though it may seem that there are a lot of objection, they are just examples of a few reasons.
The situation has been stuck since #20 or #21.
Although my opinion seems to be a minority opinion in this topic, it varies along with locations or something. #79
And also it should not be neglected by the reason it is a minority.
Then, return to #79 again.
I ask all the participants to avoid using slang as much as possible, because I may misunderstand.

Scratch Team members themselves have found that there isn't a reason to expand comment reporting as they're short enough to figure out what's wrong with them on their own. Had the moderators truly needed it, it would have been implemented by now.

I quote this typical post #21:
The ST can control the reports by various methods (e.g. filtering or sorting by the source or type of the reports).
Even now, they seem to do some of “triage”, because some kind of reports (malicious spam, etc.) are immediately treated.
Therefore, it doesn't necessarily give more work for the ST.
CONSThis is a counterargument against above.
- gives lots more work for ST

how?it would benefit everyone, just not in a direct fashion. That's JUST your opinion, I along with @Foxy112345 say no. 2-1.To add on to this, this doesn't mean your opinion doesn't matter; rather, if a suggestion doesn't benefit everyone – and if in fact does the opposite – then it's probably not a good suggestion.
please tell me

For removing the “Delete” thing:You have good english
Semi-support.That would increase the number of un-detailed reports. Most of them would simply say “I want to delete this comment”.

Absolutely no support for the first one. This is their profile. While comments can follow the community guidelines, the user may still feel uncomfortable by certain comments. Isn't their feelings important? That person behind the screen is a human. They even may have even had it rough and thus have triggers. Also, some users really just want to clean up their profile and get rid of old/embarrassing comments.Adding on to this point, some people may want to revamp their profile into organized comment sections and delete old comments/new ones that aren't replies to their comments, and this would be ridiculous.

The ST have to go through all the reports. They can't just ignore some. Now if you take the 70+ million users, which are spread all over the world, and let's say that there are about 1 million reports a day.Not every account is active. A much better statistic is the monthly active users, of which there are 1.66 million.

OK, so let's say there are 250,000 reports a day for 46 ST members. BUT some work on developing. Let's say there are 40 ST members doing this(which is an overestimation.)The ST have to go through all the reports. They can't just ignore some. Now if you take the 70+ million users, which are spread all over the world, and let's say that there are about 1 million reports a day.Not every account is active. 250,000 / 40 = 6250 reviewed reports needed each day, each ST member.

No support.
I just deleted comments on my profile. But they were not reportable, so if the delete button vanished what sould I do??
It's only fair that you can moderate your own profile.
As for the second suggestion, no.
The scratch team can check the comment and see if it's bad. If you waste scratch teams time, you get warned.

#129:
What I mean is the priority, not ignoring.
Also, they can use some automation programs (maybe even now).
As no one knows the ST's circumstances, this discussion may be pointless.

@inoking Just stop. Nobody likes this idea. It's better to close this topic and stop talking about it. Deleting is an important feature of scratch thatnobody wants to give up.
