No support, I don't see any use for this. You said you only have to be constructive for no support. But what about support? Youmustbeconstructivewhenalsosayingsupport (TM) What's the point of this when you could just simply make a post on why you support or no support? Again, no support.

Za-Chary has said that this is rejected for the following reasons:

(Context: we were talking about polls being rejected, and then Maxi brought up this suggestion, and wanted to know if it implied to this)

I am going to say yes. It seems that the main issue is the desire to get constructive posts. Perhaps instead of encouraging users to divert their “support/no support” elsewhere, it would just be better to encourage them to make constructive posts in the first place. Remember that “placebo dislike button” that was suggested some time ago? That ended up being rejected (even though it contained no downsides that a “regular” dislike button would have) because it's better to help someone think constructively if no dislike buttons existed. Similar here — sure, we would possibly see less “support this is a good idea” posts — but the process doesn't really help people actually create constructive posts.

Thanks for the discussion! Unfortunately, polls are not something we believe would fit in the forums. We are more interested in seeing Scratchers create constructive and helpful posts, rather than believing that simply saying “support” will somehow contribute to making a suggestion better. Although a polling system might help decrease the number of unconstructive posts, it doesn't really encourage anyone to think constructively — and we're more interested in constructive posts than we are in the results of any forum polls.

@Paddle2See has said more about this:

Remember that Suggestions are not a popularity contest - we are more interested in seeing Suggestion posts work to make the suggestion better rather than show support or non-support. As for “Bugs and Glitches” - it's more useful to have the full details of what various users are seeing, including steps to replicate. There might be limited applicability in other sections - but we suspect it would lead to an awful lot of spam as well, particularly in the “Things I'm Reading and Playing” area. So, sorry, it's still not a feature.
And (as noted above) I had also commented this about this particular suggestion:

The OP's specific suggestion is a little better in the sense that no one can create random polls with their own answers that we would have to moderate — but it still doesn't solve the main problem, which is the absence of constructive posting.

Keep thinking of ways to improve Scratch!
