How do you stretch a sprite?

I'm making a new 3D engine for my new game. I need to figure out how to stretch a sprite (Or more specifically, it's clones) in game, without changing the costumes. Is there a way to do so?

When I mean stretch, I mean make it larger on the X axis but not the Y axis, or vice versa.

These are supposed to be used on some projects, but they do not work anymore

How do I scale a sprite? Does it only affect it's size on one axis, because if it's just the same as changing the size, that's not what I need.

the only way is to reduce the sprite to thin strips and scale the strips. More effort than it is worth, especially with the scratch feature/restriction/bug about minimum width of a scaled sprite. (If that doesn't mean anything to you now, it will after you've played with this stuff)

Well, like others have said, you unfortunately can't (but hey, why not suggest it? Dunno why they removed it…

Stretching is so useful). Unless you manually edit the costumes, break the sprite into strips (as gtoal said), or use mods, which aren't officially supported. Yeah… This is why most 3D projects tend to use pen.

Yes, I am creating a game that uses tesla coils and I was thinking of a way to make it stretch from one tesla to the other, despite the fact that the player decides where the teslas go.

The page doesn't load on scratch, but I went on forkphorus and it doesn't work. The only thing it does is that it points towards the mouse-pointer.
