Terry just informed me that the block's task is to return things to the way they were when we started.

Pretty sure it's supposed to resolve all paradoxes. It's not that hard to explain. See, what you describe is a “problem” (or “paradox”), and so the “resolve all paradoxes” block will fix everything. Just put your faith in it.
