Do Not Post Here 2: The Sequel

Don't post in this topic. Just like what happened last year, if you post here, I will be forced to use my Scratch Team powers. I will edit your post, and you will not like it.

However, unlike last year, I will completely eradicate your post, so that no trace of what you originally said will remain. Thus you are placing your fate and conversations with others in the hands of me…

Also unlike last year, I'm probably going to close this topic tonight or tomorrow morning. I got stuff to do tomorrow…

Do Not Post Here 2: The Sequel

Hello, everyone! I'm somewhat new to Scratch (I haven't been active in a few years), and I thought I'd introduce myself! My name is Ted (formerly Benjamin) and I am 23 years old. I'm just trying to figure out adult life at the moment. I went to the University of South Carolina for a degree in Mechanical Engineering, and now I work for a middle-of-the-road engineering firm. Gotta “bring home the bacon” somehow, haha. My interests are painting, gardening, and extreme racquetball. Fantastic to meet all of you!

Wait, you’re also into extreme racquetball? I thought I was the only one! Anyway… How was everyone’s day? Since I am an adult, I went out grocery shopping at 7:00am. I find that it’s much more invigorating to do chores early in the morning, particularly before I leave for my full-time job in the morning.

You can wake up at 7:00am? Man… my job as a museum nightguard at the Galleria Dell'Accademia wrecked my sleep schedule. Seeing David up close wasn’t all it’s cracked up to be. And the taxes, man. I dread doing those every year. I had to file my taxes this past weekend; it wasn’t really a good weekend, but it’s what I had to do. Tax returns were unforgiving, my W-2 form came late, and it all took me about 5 hours to complete. And then I had to ship them out through the post office, since I did my taxes on paper this year on account of my computer recently breaking. The post office lost the address they had for me on file, so I had to wait another hour for that business to get sorted out. Being 42 is kind of rough, man.

Hello! I’ve been around on Scratch for a solid week, and I love everything about it! Part of the reason why I love it is all the sprites, especially the Scratch Cat mascot! Man, the Scratch Cat is my absolute favorite character in the world, I would not want to replace it with anything else in the world!

Hey man, try not to stress too much. Taxes are only once a year, but a fantastic life is forever. Make the most of it while you can. You’re welcome to join me and @mybearworld at extreme racquetball, if you’re around! We already shared contact info through Another Platform.

Hey, as long as the rest of you are adults talking about adult things, I’m just curious how you managed to get over the feeling that you’re not really an adult? Like, when I was younger (pre-college), I thought adults had things all figured out. But as I get older, it is becoming increasingly apparent that I’m still lost and confused with even setting up a doctor’s appointment. I’m 34 years old, if that helps.

Sorry, that feeling doesn’t really go away. But no worries there, you just have to believe in yourself, and don’t be afraid to ask for help! Asking questions is good. In particular, feel free to ask me if you’re interested in playing extreme racquetball. Me, @mybearworld, and @fdreerf are planning to play together this Sunday; we already shared contact info through Another Platform.

I’m the grammar police
and I’m here to say
your sentence here
is all cray-cray
When you say it aloud
“Me are planning to play”
it is obvious that
that’s all wrong, okay?
Replace “I” for “me”
and move it to the end
“@mybearworld, @fdreerf,
and I”, then hit send!
I’m the grammar police
and I’m here to say
I hope you have
a wonderful day.

Thank you grammar police, the lesson is much appreciated. I am currently in college, pursuing an English degree, and your lesson was very helpful. To be honest, English is kind of difficult… I might switch into an easier major, like Physics or something.

Finally, an adult place where real adults can talk about real adult things like me (I’m a real adult, totally over 18)! Anyway, my question is, how do you figure out what the heck to eat every week? Like, has anyone else found that it’s a much harder decision than it needs to be?

Finding a job might be tough with a Physics major, unless you’re looking to go into graduate school. I would recommend Mathematics instead. But, the truth is, whatever you’re passionate in should work! Except Biology, don’t major in Biology. You can’t get very far with that.

Usually I just buy things, and then my fear of letting food go bad forces me to cook it. I usually buy a thing of chicken every week, for instance (I’m vegetarian so I don’t eat beef) and chicken only lasts for a day or two, so I know to make that immediately.

Umm… I apologize if I sound too strong here, but vegetarians don’t eat chicken, I’m pretty sure.

Welcome to the new two-response forum responding system, where you get to read two potential responses and decide which one is ultimately funnier!

Ah! My apologies, I should have clarified. I have family over every week, and they love chicken, and they also love my cooking, so that’s why I buy chicken every week, I make it for them.

Wait, really? That’s news to me. I love eating chicken. Hm. I still don’t eat beef, though. I think red meat can actually be a bit unhealthy. But I suppose I could abandon the “vegetarian” label; “health-conscious” might be better

So, I’m almost afraid to ask, what are everyone’s views on today’s politics?

Although we are all adults, we have collectively decided not to share our political views, out of fear of hurting each others’ feelings.

That’s a good question. I have a running list of good foods that I enjoy, and every week I pick a few of them to make that week. But, almost as important as eating healthy, I make sure to stay physically active! That’s why I play extreme racquetball. Wanna join me for a session? I’ve got a game going with @mybearworld, @fdreerf, and @64lu. We’ve shared our contact info through Another Platform and are planning to play together this Sunday.

Does anyone else struggle with “impostor syndrome”? It’s like that feeling where you don’t really think you deserve all the accomplishments you’ve made, even though you probably do. I was recently accepted to a top graduate program and yet I still worry that I’m not good enough.
