Livia's SWC blog REVIVED!!

Weekly

My three options are ‘Passionate Blue’, ‘Wax Way’, and ‘Breezy Half’.
Passionate Blue (dark blue): It’s night time in winter.
Wax Way (dirty yellow): We are at a sandy beach
Breezy Half (light blue): The weather is slightly breezy.

Inspired by my setting, I chose the candle ‘Autumn Glow’.
It’s a deep purple colour, with multicoloured leaves (on the warm side of the colour spectrum), which gives me the vibe that the character enjoys walks at sunset.
The scent notes are: Earthy leaves, Golden sunlight and Woody patchouli. I think the character is very in touch with their surroundings and nature (Golden Sunlight and Earthy leaves) and is into witchcraft, incense, and a bit of a hippie (Woody patchouli).
They are very unique, introverted, and keep to themself.
My second character will have a more contrasting personality, ‘Blush Bouquet’.

To contrast with my first character’s personality, I chose the candle ‘Blush Bouquet’.
It’s a light pink colour, with pink flowers on the label. This gives me very ‘Mean Girls’ vibes.
The scent notes are: Welcoming pink peonies, Lilies, and Citrus Blossom. The character seems nice at first, but has a more sour side that comes out when they do not like you for whatever reason.
They are popular and only make friends with people who are popular too, but will pretend to be your friend so that they can laugh at you behind your back.
They care about their looks and only wear pastel clothes, usually pink, never sweatpants or joggers.

When I clicked the randomise button, the example I received was: “I’ve been checking you out.”
Planning time!
Perhaps Earthy Leaves (I will come up with a name later) invites Lily to the beach for some reason? This could be the other way around. I have been reading a lot of books about people hiding their sexuality lately (especially popular people like Lily) so maybe Lily is secretly lesbian and has fallen in love with Earthy leaves, but it afraid of what her friends might say.
I also got the line “Oh my God. You’re in love with her.” so I may be using that later in the story. I am using PROM as an inspiration for this because the plotline is quite similar, except Earthy Leaves has a different personality to Emma.

I am not sure how Earthy Leaves will react to Lily’s love confession. Maybe she doesn’t feel the same way? Maybe Lily has treated her badly in the past and she can’t get over that, no matter how much she loves Lily or how much she tries? Earthy Leaves could be quite stubborn.

I have decided on the name ‘Celeste’ for Earthy Leaves.

Feelings are fatal

“I’ve been checking you out.” Lily wiped her sweaty palms on the back of her skirt as she walked along with Celeste. What if one of her friends saw her here? She would never live it down.
“Is that so?” Celeste replied. She did not trust Lily Taylor. This was not the first time she had been called to a secretive location by the ‘Pinks’ clique. Last time had ended in her house being T-ped.
“I find you interesting, I guess…” Lily blushed a little while saying this and hoped that the darkness of the night covered the pinkness of her cheeks up, never before had she said such a thing out loud.
“Is that so?” Celeste repeated.
“Yes.”
“Why did you invite me here?” Surprised by Lily’s certain reply, Celeste attempted to arouse some sort of answer.
“I wanted to tell you something.” Lily’s heart thumped a little. Was it time already?
“Well then, spit it out.” Celeste was agitated. She had vowed to herself never to talk to a ‘Pink’ again, yet here she was (she thought), falling for their prank hook, line and sinker.
“Umm… Okay.”
“Go on.”
“Umm,” Lily paused. “I’ve been thinking about you a lot lately.”
“And?” Celeste prompted.
“Thinking about you romantically.” She spoke quickly.
“You what?”
“I have been thinking about you a lot lately, in a romantic way.”
Had she heard Lily correctly? Was this some cruel prank? What was going on?
Lily, a member of the ‘Pinks’ liked her?
Lily was a lesbian?
“Well… Umm… Well do you like me back?”
“No.”
This couldn’t be happening. NO NO NO! Lily felt her cheeks grow hotter and hotter. What if Celeste told the kids at school? Gayness was not cool in Grey Oak. What would her mother say?
What would the ‘Pinks’ say?
“Oh.” She gave off a strangled cry, tears brimmed in her eyes. Normally Lily would never have gotten this upset over a simple rejection, but this rejection was from a person that had helped her find herself without even knowing it, a person who now knew her biggest secret.
Celeste’s face softened slightly at Lily’s upset. “I’m really sorry.”
“I am too.” Lily began to walk quite hastily towards the beach gate, ignoring the coat of sand that covered her brand new shoes. Her mother would be mad. Lily didn’t care.
Celeste followed.
“Lily! Wait!”
Lily felt her heart flutter at these words. The words that before this hour she would die to hear. Celeste ran after her.
Lily regarded Celeste and then picked up her pace. No matter how much she liked her, she couldn’t bear to face the embarrassment of again looking into those brown doe eyes and seeing that look of platon in them. Celeste did not love Lily, far from it. Celeste had despised Lily before this day, and although Lily knew that she still had the tiniest thread of hope that maybe her opinions would change.

But they hadn’t.

Lily walked home alone, pulling her faux fur coat tighter when drafts of wind gushed towards her shaking body. She walked straight through the door and ignored her mother’s remarks, she climbed up the stairs with aching limbs and just sat on her bed.

Numb.

She did not want to come out of her room, she did not want to live any longer. Celeste could do whatever she liked with her knowledge of Lily’s lesbianess. She did not care any longer. Lily did not want to go to school, sleep, eat or drink. Lily just wanted to sit there and stare at her ivory wall.

Lily fell asleep looking at her ivory wall.

Celeste fell asleep pondering what to do.

The next day came shortly afterwards, the sun rose and shone through both girls’ windows. Lily turned over in her bed and moaned slightly, Celeste buried her confusion down and walked downstairs.

“Lily? Sweetheart? I want to have a word with you.” Lily’s mother called up the stairs.
“Mom I’m sick. I don’t think I can go to school today.” Lily tried to speak as loud as she could, but her voice was hoarse from crying.
“Lily, honey, I have to send you to school. I’ll get fined otherwise.” She didn’t know what could’ve upset Lily so greatly, but resolved to tackle the topic once she had returned from school.

Celeste trudged to Grey Oak high with a frown on her face. Last night’s events were now upsetting her.

Lily’s eyes were red and puffy, she hadn’t bothered to put on any makeup. She knew that this attitude wasn’t healthy, but for once she didn’t care.

At the gate, the two girls collided.

“Oh.” Celeste’s eyebrows raised and she hurried away. Lily walked off in the opposite direction.

In the hall, Lily was met by a smiling Amanda.

“Hi Lily,” she frowned slightly, “what’s wrong?”
Lily pushed past Amanda and began her short stroll to class. Maybe she could make it the whole day without speaking to anyone.

“Lily talk to me!”
This was the Amanda that Lily knew better. The Amanda that wanted to know it all. The Amanda that didn’t care about her friends. The gossip-hungry Amanda.
“I DON’T WANT TO TALK TO YOU AMANDA!” Lily suddenly exploded.
“JUST GO AWAY!
She began to run, hot, fat, tears trickling down her face. She passed Celeste on the way to the bathroom, looking shocked.
“YOU GO AWAY TOO!”
Amanda followed closely after her.
“Hey,” she spoke in a softer tone this time, “what’s wrong?”
“Nothing.” Lily mumbled.
“Lily Julie Taylor we have been friends since birth, I know when you are upset.”
“Stop it Manda. Leave me alone.”
Lily peeked out of her stall, and recoiled when she saw Celeste washing her hands. Amanda frowned once again.
“Go away weirdo. Can’t you see that this is a private conversation?”
Although Celeste had brutally rejected her, Lily still felt this odd feeling that she needed to protect her.
“Leave her alone Amanda!” She blushed when Celeste turned around and looked at her. They shared a moment of silence.

“Oh my God. You love her!”
