the first time i got muted on my new scratcher account i got muted for a short period of time, then a longer one and it built up to 120 minutes*.

how far can this go? can an account be perm muted or banned for being muted too much?

* these tests were conducted on an account which no one knows about, and the comment chain was clearly labled “filter test”. i also deleted comments if they did not get filtered obviously

I think it can go up a day.

I don't think you will get banned, I think the time of the mute could be years

the funny thing is, there was no ban message whatsoever, it was just deleted.

there are a few possibilities for this:
- the scratch team deleted it because of the account's original purpose (i can't share that for reasons though.)
- the scratch team deleted it because i was trying to find out how muting works
- the scratch team saw it was muted a bunch and deleted it (sorry if i spammed your mute logs or something. not the intention)
- it was deleted automatically after 8 hours since my last mute. this is plausible because i logged in to check the mute status last night and there were 5 hours remaining. sometime between then and now it was deleted.
- someone guessed the password and did the honours for me. - this is unlikely because i didn't get an email about account deletion, and it gives a few days where i'd see a banner at the top of scratch anyways.

Happened to me before when my follow all account got banned, it just got deleted.

I think that should not happen and instead, you get the ban page, so you know the reason.

We're usually not okay with users who try to test the filter for any reason. To answer your question, however, no one will be automatically banned or “perm muted” for getting muted too much.
