Griff patches scrolling platformer is good for scrolling. If you just want a regular one i suggest this because it works really good.

Hey. you can use the backgrounds color as ground! you can make it if it touches a specific color like black for instance you can make it go above the black spot! do you also like my new icon?

I would suggest listening to everyone else's advice. I could try my best to teach you how to make one but griffpatch has already made one and he's a much better teacher than I am. This is the link to his first video on a simple scrolling platformer. This is a link to his tutorial on how to make a scrolling tile-based platformer. He also has one other platformer. I also have my own platformer engine here where I've left comments explaining what everything does so you could either make your own or remix it. Mine is a little more complex so it might not be for you.
