Is creating cryptocurrencies allowed on Scratch? (NOT INVOLVING REAL MONEY)
So, I have got an idea for a Scratch cryptocurrency that you can use to pay in forum “shops”, donate into games or send to people as gifts. (No real money involved, of course). I know how to make this all, but I am afraid that I might get banned for that. I read Community Guidelines and Terms of Use, but I haven't found anything. However, I know there are multiple things that are unspokenly banned on Scratch, like cloud online chats.
So, are cryptocurrencies allowed on Scratch? Will creating them get me banned? or is scratch communist? Thanks for any answers.

This sounds really interesting, I'd help with it! What do you mean by cryptocurrency? If it doesn't involve real money, cloud chats, or websites outside of Scratch, then I believe it's alright.

If this topic receives multiple people saying it's okay (to be sure) then I'll start the collab and invite you.
It does not involve external websites, real money, or cloud chats.

Ive seen it being mentioned as a blacklist for a ceartain shop for partners, so that suggests thst they exist and are allowed.

I’m pretty sure they are ok, but if they aren’t, you wouldn’t get banned right off the bat. The Scratch Team would most likely just send an alert and take the project down. They only ban for really bad stuff or after a couple warnings.

Great, count me in. What should it be called? I'd try to design a logo.

Probably just a message from the ST.

Please don't quote the OP.
Please actually post something relevant to the topic. Why do you always have to do that? Leave them alone, they are not hurting you. Aren't they?

Yes, fake, digital currencies are allowed on Scratch, such as V-bucks in Fortnite.

I think they mean for this to be used the way dogecoin was originally used as on reddit. No, I was in a collab few days ago and it got shut down; it was a cryptocurrency in scratch.
I really don't think this is a good fit for Scratch. If you are going to go to the trouble of limiting distribution and enforcing use, then it has some sort of value and goes against the policy.

I am in!
How will we distribute the currency,
how will we regulate its movement? (So it has value)
How many coins will we create(so that it has value),
why should it be valuable? what can you do with it?
also, remixing exists, the project will get remixed to infinity if it gets popular, how will we stand out?
We need to answer these first!

Last time this was done it went downhill, this about a year or two ago (late late 2018 to early 2019) and the dominant one that eventually died off was ShopBux.
there were a few controversies with paying for loves and faves and I believe outright denying services if not payed (citation needed). With this the ST had to enforce a few rules where you may not be denied service if you don't pay, may not be allowed to buy loves, fave and follows from the currency and a few more things you can find here: https://scratch.mit.edu/discuss/topic/340012/
This topic is in pretty murky waters, and is generally considered not a good idea. You can still go ahead with it if you follow said rules in that post tho. But you can't really do much with the currency anyway.
