I STRONGLY SUPPORT THIS! Not only it can clear the “contest is over” problem, but it can also help:
1. Reduce false mass reporting
2. Have higher quality projects on the front page

2. Have higher quality projects on the front pageThat is extremely offensive.
The front page welcomes projects of all variety.
You really want to see some generic platformer that some kid made for “fame”?
“Oh, I'll flag this project because I think it's ‘low quality’”. And that is mad sus.

There, there, lordbei. There's no need to elevate the situation to that level.2. Have higher quality projects on the front pageThat is extremely offensive.

Considering that they would have to label their own projects as “don't front page”, I fail to see how this would be offensive. Kinda reminds me of the “draft” tick box from Scratch 2.0, except it would actually do something. That being said, I don't see how this would put higher quality projects on the front page; most of the users who consistently get low effort projects on the front page are doing it on purpose and would not willingly mark their projects as “don't front page”.2. I see, so they are respecting privacy, and scratch should make users feel comfortable. Support then!By that logic the Scratch Team can also edit your project notes whenever they want, but you don't see them running around writing descriptions on other people's projects. Creative Commons means that people can do what they want with your project, not that they need to or that you can't ask them not to if they give you a channel with which to do so. Yes, Scratch Team CAN display your project on the front page. Nothing about it says that they can't let you opt out either. Do you understand this or do I need to call in a Scratch Team member to explain it further?Key word: CAN. Scratch doesn't need to have your project on the front page, and I don't see why they would go out of their way to not allow users to choose whether or not it can be.I don't get the point here, they can do anything with the material on the website, as well as others. I think this is going against the creative commons.

Maybe it could work by putting a tag in the project notes/instruction/title like #nofrontpage.
And maybe even #nfe for NFEing yourself without tagging FNAF.

Literally the reason for the NFE status is so they don't appear on the front page. This suggestion is similar to one about marking your oen projects as NFE. NFE means Not For Everyone and these projects are thoose that talk about how to ‘hack’ scratch, or they have a FNAF theme, or they have an animated thumbnail. This status means that the projects are not the type of projects encouraged on scratch but they stull follow the community guidelines.
I don't know…. this would give it a banner in the corner automatically (perhaps), and it could still show up in search results. It is not for stuff like FNAF or animated thumbnails or hacking. It is for contests or people who don't want attention. So I don't know if it is a duplicate or not.

Yes, but also it will take them out of search results. You may still want to search for the project, so therefore it is different from NFE. Plus, a project with rules to enter a contest isn't NFE, so marking it as so is slightly strange. But the main thing here is still having the ability to search for the project, as you don't know if your project is NFE just from the project page. So do you get now the main reason why these are different?Literally the reason for the NFE status is so they don't appear on the front page. This suggestion is similar to one about marking your oen projects as NFE.
