Restart the Scratch Holiday Logos program
Bump.
Why are there so many topics that are similar and yet nobody finds? Could someone link to the topic that's essentially this but with more discussion?

Support, I think that was a great way to implement Scratchers in Scratch's website and I would have definitely participated if I was around then.

I said on the duplicate thread that if “we don't want to exclude anyone” is a large concern then they could just pick a bunch of random holidays that no one really cares all that much about and choose to celebrate those every year. I'm really proud that idea personally for some reason. I guess the really popular holidays are already done to death, and this would become a memorable part of the website if done?

The thing about that is that nobody cares about those holidays. I feel like it'd be a waste to celebrate things like “International Mountain Day” every week when nobody has heard of those before. Not every week. I would say they should only pick like 6-12 specific ones or something. As for “no one caring”, the only reason I care about April Fools' Day is because interesting stuff happens on Scratch that day. I don't see why picking random arbitrary holidays has to be much different from that. Also, an excuse to celebrate anything other than Christmas in December would be great in my opinion. The thing about that is that nobody cares about those holidays. Sure, I could get behind a few minor holidays, but it seems weird to also Not every week. I would say they should only pick like 6-12 specific ones or something. Support. I don't see anything wrong with including a few arbitrary events guaranteed not to cause offence in the programme.

I don't really like how it looks. I made a mockup for the December holidays…

I think this would be a neat and exciting feature that could involve many Scratchers. Also, I like @the2000's idea of doing small holidays as well because not only would it allow the artwork of more Scratchers the chance to be featured, but also because small holidays are very inclusive. For example, large religious holidays like Christmas might not be celebrated by certain groups, but random holidays like Pi Day or Avagadro's Number day are completely non-religious and therefore could be celebrated by most people.
