this post is about my new game, Balloons Tower Defense!


I tried to code Bloons Tower Defense in Scratch and I think it worked really well!
Here is the first look:

As visible in the shop panel, there are currently three towers:
• Archer tower: Shoots fast arrows that can pop two balloons.
• Tack shooter: Shoots sharp tacks in 8 directions. Effective on edges.
• Bomb shooter: Shoots bombs that explode on impact.

I use catfood as the currency in Balloons Tower Defense.
You can purchase a tower by clicking on the respective icon:


Upon clicking the tower is deployed and ready to pop balloons!

Start a wave by clicking on the red big button in the bottom right corner:

As you can see, red balloons approach quickly from the left, trying to reach the end. Don't let that happen! If they're through, you lose lives. Try to avoid losing lives, as you only have 100.

Hovering over a tower reveals the range of the tower. As soon as a balloon enters the range of a tower, the tower will detect that and start attacking the balloon.

This obviously is not enough. There has to be something better, more interesting. Here's where upgrades come in place:

Upgrades take the game to another level, literally!

You might ask, what do upgrades do?
Well, they improve the abilities of the towers. Some examples:
• Range upgrade: Make the range bigger, so that the tower can detect balloons faster.
• Pierce upgrade: Projectiles shoot through multiple balloons at once!
• Rocket upgrade: Bomb shooter starts shooting rockets instead of bombs.

These are just some of the upgrades.

There are currently 7 different balloon types, 5 of them can also appear in the regenerative state, distinguishable by the heart shape which regenerative balloons have.

I have crafted 23 amazing levels for you to try out and play!
