Scratch vs Code.org

Code.org block coding feels kinda forced while Scratch imo gives freedom
Code.org doesnt even have a community as far as i know
so I prefer scratch
but thats just my opinion

I agree too! I cannot understand code.org's blocks, probably because code.org is more scriptlike.

code.org is pretty great in the middle schools lessons (I had to fake my age just to get real coding like why)

I choose these Links for a specific reason, if you're a Zelda fan then you might know why

an analogy I've used is that code.org is a hamster cage compared to the playground of scratch.
it pretty much sucks as a community, but then again code.org does allow you to code real javascript instead of the unrealistic block coding of scratch

i agree it annoys me, to make more detailed are harder projects you gotta be older. And all the other stuff is made for 6 year olds. scratch gives you freedom to make whatever you want. it's more fun to explore scratch than code.org. It's like you get only five blocks and ten whole bocks, while in scratch even though you have only 2 books u have an unlimited access to blocks

Yeah, but if you wanna learn javascript go to khan academy. Ultimately if you want to learn a text based language you should probably actually learn it purposefully instead of it being a side project or as only part of your development. Btw, Scratch is written in javascript so ha

Ok here's why code.org is trash:
Real coding is age locked like why
No community, so basically, no help. very cool code.org
too easy half of the time and too hard the other times
the only art you can make is pixel art, which is bad if you suck like me

teachers tend to prefer code.org but students tend to prefer scratch. I'm a student and I also prefer scratch

Code.org is WAY harder: it is almost impossible to make a good game
EXAPLE:

SCRATCH :
Move To : <>
CODE.ORG : [scratchblocks]Go to the clouds and fall to the ground

Alright, I'll admit that code.org isn't as bad as I've said it was.. I like Scratch but I appreciate how code.org helps you code JS

Scratch is better, due to the social actions we have, and the coding is pretty self explanatory.

i do scratch and code.org and i can tell that scratch is a lot better. code.org is very complicated, you can make your own blocks, but you need to use other blocks to make them, and its very similar to scratch, however it is in my opinion boring. its not bad, just scratch is better.

the only thing that i like about code.org better is that there are more costumes and that there are some preset movments. other than that scratch is better IMO

Scratch is definitely the superior website, because it has a REAL community.
Code.org doesn't even let you completely make what you want.
