remove "my variable"

In scratch when you open a new project it will give you a variable
(my variable)
no one uses it, I the first thing I do at the beginning of every project is either delete it or rename it
I think this should be removed, the only problem with it is that new scratchers might not know what a variable is, but there are places on scratch where they can find out what it means.
the good thing is people don't have to waste their time deleting it.

Even though they do not know what it is, we should keep it because that's the default settings and the variable is a fundamental feature in Scratch and others.
BTW, please don't block spam. Blockspamming is when you use blocks that don't add any important role in the topic.

Oh my god, totally. Why did they add this? Was this a debugging feature that someone added and forget to tell anyone to remove? That's the only reason I can fathom this remaining in the current version. “Uh hey guys what if we put something that no one will ever use at the very bottom of a long list of blocks and force the user to delete it manually every time they make a new project”

Edit:
Even though they do not know what it is, we should keep it because that's the default settings and the variable is a fundamental feature in Scratch and others.
I've hired one hundred English professionals and none of them can decipher a single reason out of this. Yes, that is the current default setting. Yes, variables are a fundamental feature in programming languages. No, that doesn't prove or disprove anything related to this suggestion.

I disagree. Will removing a mascot from the company help the company?

Uh, what does removing a mascot have to do with anything? “my variable” has literally no practical purpose besides annoying and wasting the time of innocent users.

But variables play an important role in coding.
What I mean is that Scratch needs visual cues to stimulate curiousity in order to encourage users to experiment.
What do you really mean by anything else?

Are you seriously trying to argue that “my variable” is the mascot of variables and should therefore not be removed? First off, it's not. Second off, Clippy was the mascot of writing documents and as I'm sure you're aware everybody loves him.

That's actually a good point. However, is “stimulating curiosity” really worth annoying everyone after the first time for?

Imagine, Program, Share
One of the most important and protagonistic aspect of Scratch.

I have a strong indifference on this suggestion and really couldn't care less whether or not it gets removed.

uhh what does that have to do with this topic? yes, variables are a large part of coding, I use them in all my projects, but when was the last time you used the “my variable”? and sure, no blockspamming

The Scratch Team added it for a reason, though I don't know why.

They weren't blockspamming. it was part of their signature.

Na, it's actually a pretty useful block, and it's one thing that is hard to imagine Scratch without(even if it's 100th hardest thing to imagine scratch without).

I can imagine Scratch without it: Literally every version prior to 3.0, and it never caused me any problems. Also, [citation needed] for “useful”. How is wasting my time and making me delete/rename a variable I never asked for “useful”?

Edit: Anyway yeah duplicate
