Does Scratch desktop work on M1 Equipped Macs?
Does any/all versions of Scratch desktop work on Apple Mac devices that have the ARM-M1 chipset? If yes, does it work without Rosetta?
Can any one who uses a Mac with the M1 chip clarify this?
edit: i use an M1 mac and i dont use scratch desktop anymore, so closed as resolved

Works perfectly with Rosetta, of course.
Without Rosetta, it would probably crash, because it's not an “universal” application yet.

I can't test it though because duh, I can't just turn off Rosetta.
why iz image much big
For other versions, I don't see why not because Rosetta is supposed to work perfectly and for the most part does.

Ah ok, thanks

edit: it says “Intel” over there, so there is no M1 version…. do you think they're gonna make an optimized version?

Maybe, who knows. It doesn't really matter because it's all JS and Electron anyways and it might not even be Scratch's choice (prove me wrong) but maybe.
It runs perfectly right now but I guess an universal version would be nice.(?)

It's possible. It might be a good idea to open an issue about this in the scratch-desktop GitHub repo.edit: it says “Intel” over there, so there is no M1 version…. do you think they're gonna make an optimized version?yeh thats why i shared the image to prove its an intel app
