Hello Scratchers. There is a bug that I can see happening worldwide, that thumbnails are not updating. For example: my featured project that shows my stats, has a thumbnail that won't update when I change it. It's very annoying and makes it so that you can't change a thumbnail to fit an update/announcement.

If anyone who is part of the Scratch Team sees this, please find out how to fix this bug.

Try clearing your cache (CTRL+SHIFT+R)

I have also experienced the same problem today, its really annoying.
(i have tried reloading and mass saving, still doesn't work)

This bug may have came when scratch was down this year.

Yeah, this is happening to me. It's been going on for a while now.

This is happening to me also. My thumbnail is not changing, even after clearing cache.

Power reloading doesn't work, it's just scratch being slow for the billionth time this year

It happened to me too and it was super annoying. So instead I made a copy of it, then saved it with the thumbnail displayed, and unshared the first project. Then you'll get the thumbnail you want and the problem will be fixed.

This dang bug happened to me so many times I literally contacted the Scratch team about it. It's so frustrating (that's my frustration)

idk, the thumbs of my actual projects are fine, but in my stuff they are the old unfinished versions. Scratch has been quite laggy lately so idk

It Has Been Confirmed That This Is A Bug That Is Still Ongoing Right Now.
It Has Been Confirmed On This Discussion That The Scratch Team Has Been Notified About This Problem And Are Currently Fixing The Issue That Should Hopefully Be Patched Soon (i hope)

Yeah, that's so far the only way I know to change thumbnails now.

I've also contacted the ST, and described my issue as follows:

“The thumbnail of my featured project will not update to the one I set for it after it was shared two days ago. When the cover of my project is viewed from any place other than the project page itself, the thumbnail remains as it was when it was first made public. Many other users are dealing with the same issue and have taken to the Discussion Forums in search of a solution. However, clearing cache, repeatedly saving, and even clearing the project out and reuploading the entire project file did not help me and has not helped other users.

I would like for the project thumbnail to update on my profile and anywhere else it gets viewed from the outside to the one I have set. I hope this issue can be patched soon.”

Maybe this will work save project on thumbnail then sign out then sign in it might work?

I think we agree that this is a problem at the moment.

To confirm I give this example, a project created on the 5 Feb, and last saved with a new thumbnail on the 8 Feb (3 days ago now):

Scratch is still (after 3 days) not showing the new thumbnail on my profile page, or in My Stuff.

The URL for the thumbnail is:

If you add something random to the query of that URL, you can see that the server has indeed saved the new thumbnail:

Yes, this happened to me. It's really annoying because I hate the old thumbnail for my project.
I think the Scratch Team tried to fix it, but it happened again.
Also my project seems to have 3 different thumbnails. The one that shows up on my profile page is from version 1.5.1:

If you change the numbers from 282x210 to 1000x1000, it's the one from version 1.5.2:

And if you change them to 1001x1001, it's the newest thumbnail from 1.6:

The last one is the one I want to show up on my profile.
