Option to switch default drawing mode between bitmap and Vector
This is my suggestion:
I don't see any duplicates, and I thought up this just now, so bear in mind.
I think an option to switch default drawing mode in scratch would be pretty useful. For example, I rarely use Vector and VERY occasionally use Bitmap, it might not be same for other scratchers, but I think people who mostly use Bitmap should have an option between switching default drawing modes.
Example:
The current drawing mode when you boot up a new, blank sprite is Vector.
Say you only use Bitmap
You should do about (Insert number of costumes in each and every sprite) switches to Vector to Bitmap.
If you can switch default drawing modes to Bitmap, it'd save some time, it'd be easy for making a quick, simple project only using Bitmap sprites.
But if you prefer Vector over Bitmap, you don't need Bitmap as your default, you could keep Vector as your default drawing mode.
Keep in mind that this wouldn't change the drawing mode of a single sprite that's not the default drawing mode.
Example: If you keep drawing on a Vector sprite when your default is Bitmap, the sprite won't convert to Bitmap unless you push the “Convert to Bitmap” button.

What's wrong with the button? It only takes milliseconds to press and convert it.

Tell that to someone who animates in bitmap and has made hundreds frames of animation in sprites before. A lot of the time I create a new costume, get confused for half a second as to why all of my tools aren't working, and then remember “oh right, I have to press the button for every single frame.” What's wrong with the button? It only takes milliseconds to press and convert it.

I didn't understand this at first but this kind of makes sense, as someone who remembers how tedious it was to switch from bitmap to vector in 2.0 I can understand how annoying it'd be for bitmap users. Support.

Do you make frame-by-frame animations in bitmap? I couldn't find any from a glance at your profile's projects. That doesn't happen for me. -snip-

dupe- maybe? Correct me if I'm wrong, although it does include what the OP here wants.

https://scratch.mit.edu/discuss/topic/483097/You might be right, but honestly I prefer this post because the one you linked is full of unnecessary bloat and is practically two suggestions rolled into one in my eyes

My first project was in vector then bitmap. And the majority of this project is in bitmap.Do you make frame-by-frame animations in bitmap? I couldn't find any from a glance at your profile's projects. That doesn't happen for me. -snip-

Support, I wouldn't benefit from this but based on the2000's responses I can assume others would.

Full support, and also be able to change default for uploading images so that they aren't defaulted to bitmap.

Support, there should be a button next to the “Convert to Bitmap” button that allows you to switch your mode.
