Hi! this is @Scratch_cat_457 and I made this topic for Scratchers who have questions or would like to know some tips about scratch.
For example,
@Somerandomperson says,
I want to know how to use operator blocks such as

([abs v] of (some number))
(() mod (0))

this might be embarrasing but I don't know what the last block means myself xD
If you want help with your scripts I'm gonna make a help a HWS (help with scripts) directory in the help with scripts section
So just ask your questions here… I guess
You know I think this kinda sounds wierd but if you want you can be a helper in this directory for if I'm offline or don't know the answer to something
(I'm also gonna make a studio for the members on scratchsoon)

This will get unmanageable very quickly. Much better to leave the forum working as it does best - those needing help post new topics.

I'm unclear whether you're trying to answer questions, thus replicating the forum in a topic within that forum which is poiintless OR trying to create a list of questions and answers which is not an efficient way of helping people. I know from helping for several year here that many people don't even read the sticky topics before posting so what makes you think they would manually search through a ‘directory’ of questions?

Please, if you want to help, let those needing help post the new topics and help by responding where you have something useful to add. Anything else confuses things for those needing help.

I already helped many people on sticky topics.I just think that it will be way easier if they come to me not m come to them

That's probably what a friend is for, we're just here to help not as their personal friends that they come to. It would also be bad if 30+ people came and asked you questions while other people have nothing to answer on the help with scripts forum. Personally, I agree that if they need help they should just come and ask us through the comment section (I don't want to check on every forum I posted with updates from other people) but then again I'm just one person I won't be able to handle everyone personally.

So if someone is looking for help and the HwS forum consists of hundreds of people offering help how do they choose the most suitable one without doing a lot of work? Just doesn't make sense. If people want you to help they can post a new topic and post a comment on your profile so you know they've done so or just ask on your profile.

The sensible way is for those needing help to post the new topics. They can then get answers from a variety of Scratchers with a huge amount of experience and not just at certain times of day. You can't possible compete with that as one person but you can contribute by responding to topics where you have something useful to add.

If you had any idea how often we have this exact same conversation with people you'd realise we're right - topics like yours do not stay active on the forum. We're not discouraging anyone from helping but it needs to be done the right way for the forum to work effectively.

Which means you can't do what you're trying to do because the confusion is an unavoidable side effect. I'm hoping you're starting to see why this is not a good idea.

In other words you just want to do this and won't accept friendly advice from more experienced users of the forum advising you against it?
