Pokémon Sword/Shield: Dynamax or Gigantamax Charizard?

I’ve got few questions:
I’ve recently gotten the free Gigantamax Charmander from Leon’s house, but I already had a Charizard on the team. They both have the same nature (Timid: +Speed, -Attack) and I haven’t unlocked the IV Judge yet. As far as I’m aware, the only main difference is that one is Dynamax and the other is Gigantamax. Keep in mind that this is an in-game team, not competitive. I’m not using a Drought/Sunny Day team, just my favorites.

- Is Gigantamax Charizard better than Dynamax?
- What moves should I teach it? For example, is Solar Beam worth it if I can’t reliably set up the sun, etc.
- Are there any under-used moves that are actually pretty good?

I have no life, so I’d be more than willing to do Max Raids until I get a specific TR, given that I don’t already have it. Thanks in advance.

In case you’re wondering, the rest of my team:

- Appletun (Sweetie):
Apple Acid, Dragon Pulse, Leech Seed, Recover

- Gyarados (Shrimp):
Aqua Tail, Dragon Dance, Earthquake, Ice Fang

- Scrafty (Beatbox):
Bulk Up, Drain Punch, Crunch, Poison Jab

- Gardevoir (Celeste):
Moonblast, Psychic, Shadow Ball, Wish

- Aggron (Alloy):
Body Press, Iron Tail, High Horsepower (I was using him in Max Raids), Stone Edge

Pokémon Sword/Shield: Dynamax or Gigantamax Charizard?

You should probably post stuff like this in the Pokémon Topic next time.

You're in luck, though, because I'm a diehard Pokémon fan

The only thing different about Gigantamax Charizard is its signature move, G-Max Wildfire, which isn't even that good compared to Max Flare (which also sets up sun, which will come in handy eventually). So a good idea is to stick with your current Charmander, the one that isn't Gigantamax. Timid is a spectacular nature, congratulations!

As for movesets, here's a couple of good things you can run if you want. You want to keep the moveset primarily Special, especially with your Charmander in question.
Flamethrower is learned at level 24 and should be one of your best, if not the best fire STAB moves. If it's not good enough for you, consider learning the TR for Heat Wave or Fire Blast. Overheat is another appealing choice but it's not as consistent
Dragon Breath is learned at level 12, and while it is underpowered, it should help you with stuff that resists Flamethrower. It's a good idea to swap it out for something better. Dragon Pulse, TR62, is a good idea for a replacement, although Dragon is not the best offensively it should help you against Raihan and two of Leon's team members
Air Slash is a very good idea for Flying STAB, you can relearn it immediately after your Charmeleon evolves into a Charizard. Try Hurricane instead if that's not working out, I believe it's a TR..?
Solar Beam (please learn this it's super good) is a good TR move you can learn. Max Flare will automatically set up Sun for you, though that only matters once Dynamax ends. Even with the two-turn charge, it's a very powerful move and a must-have for coverage.
If you have the DLC, Scorching Sands can be taught by the Isle of Armor Move Tutor and is a good choice.
Ancient Power provides Rock coverage if you're into that maybe

Well, those are my takes. Good luck! (remember to post this in the pokemon topic above next time)

nope, it's not. in this case, it doesn't set up sun. residual damage is way worse than sun

As I said, I wouldn't recommend G-Max Charizard. It's not as good

Well, my mind is made. I’ll keep the original non-Gigantamax Charizard. Max-Flare seems a lot better than GMax-Wildfire. Thanks for helping me out! ^^
