When do you think 3 letter names will be gone?
There's certainly a lot of them left. While the ones made up of only letters are starting to disappear, ones including numbers/dashes/underscores are still plentiful.

When do you think 3 letter names will be gone?
I thought Jeffalo already made a list of the remaining three-letter usernames and they were going to take them all. I guess they hadn't gotten around to it.i would take them all, but im scared the scratch team is going to send me scary email so i wont.
theres still a bunch left proof qvn

If usernames can contain letters a-z, 0-9, dashes and underscores, and letters aren't counted twice for uppercases, then we would have 54,872 possible three-letter usernames. That's (26 + 10 + 2)^3. Subtract the current amount of three-letter usernames taken, and there you go.
Also, in case you're curious, under the same circumstances shown above, the total possible amount of usernames on Scratch before we run out of usernames period, (unless I forgot the actual character limit) is…
38^20!* = 2.62083192510364204488e+3,843,458,684,693,552,411.
That's a number a bit under 4 quintillion digits long (which would be 4 billion billion). I got that result from https://www.ttmath.org/online_calculator/
*The “!” after “20” is intentional, that's the factorial symbol.

So if you have a list @Jeffalo about how many are left?it's like around 100 for 3 letter only, i haven't counted the ones with numbers and special characters

You're not supposed to factorial 20, you have to add 38^20, 38^19, 38^18, all the way down to 38^3 to get all the possible usernames.
38^20!* = 2.62083192510364204488e+3,843,458,684,693,552,411.

That's scientific notation…2.62083192510364204488e+3,843,458,684,693,552,411.
But you have a decimal after the 2, so that can't be right. Otherwise, there would be less than three combinations…

You did your math wrong. You're not supposed to factorial 20, you have to add 38^20, 38^19, 38^18, all the way down to 38^3 to get all the possible usernames. So then, at least according to Google, the amount of possible usernames is… *drum rolls*

4.048124e+31!
Cool I guess.

Anyway, to answer the question, we're going to need to first 1) find the rate of how many accounts are made a day, and 2) find out how many 3 character long usernames they are left.
From there, I'm pretty sure we could use Mathematics™©® to find out how many more days it will take for all 3 letter usernames to be gone, using percentages and division and stuff.
So, to find the rate at which accounts are made a day, or what I will be calling R, we could look at the statistics page. So, in the month of September, 1,318,768 new accounts were made, and because there are 30.4167 days in a month, R=1,318,768/30.4167, or after doing the Mathematics™©®, R=43356.7086502. Rounding up, that means that 43357 accounts are made a day.
To find the second variable, the total amount of 3 letter usernames left, I'm going to need help - probably from Jeffalo.

Anyway, once we find that, we could hopefully use it to find the percentage of 3 letter usernames made a day. Then, we'd end up with how many 3 letter usernames are made a day, and we could divide that with the current amount of 3 letter usernames left to find out how many days we have until all 3 letter usernames are taken.
I think.

I thought that the factorial part was a shortcut to 38^20 + 38^19 + 38^18 etc., but with your method it's 4.0481239792225648784462962744968e+31. I probably assumed I needed to use multiplication where I was supposed to use addition! Also, in case you're curious, under the same circumstances shown above, the total possible amount of usernames on Scratch before we run out of usernames period, (unless I forgot the actual character limit) is…You did your math wrong.
