I don't know how hard it would be since I don't know how such systems operate. Like, is the process of gathering data, or actually combining the data together the problem. I don't know. But still, I think the Scratch Team should take a long look at this and actually consider it. A simple recommendation system would be fine, just something to allow you to actually browse, you know. Similar projects just pop up. Not based on your activity or what people like and stuff, since that might be super difficult to implement, but like I said, maybe they could use tags.
I'm sure the Scratch Team could figure out a simpler way for it to work.
I hope they do see this and consider the possibilities.

Support! To make users stay in Scratch, The devs has to make a system to recommend the users a project. Mybe a simple solution is to recommend the projects that they search the most.

No, it’d probably be broken by add everything studios. I've always felt like some kind of recommendation system was lacking from Scratch, though considering how difficult it would be to program I'm not sure what to replace it with. “Other projects in studios that this project is in”? …That might actually work.

YouTube doesn’t want to share their algorithm with anybody except the devs, so why would they do it with Scratch?
youtube devs dont even know how it works even

Then let's get back on topic. Aanndd now this topic is derailed. Now we’re just talking about YouTube.
No support.
With recommendations systems on most sites they are programmed to keep you on. I do not want scratch to become addictive.

Support. Some people put 1 month in the making of the project, yet get only 3 views. I'm not talking about fame, but the user who made the project would be sad their 1 month project barely got any views, since they spent so much time to make that project and it goes in the dust.
It also helps us find some fun great projects to view when we are bored.
i hope it won't be the same as yt's algorithm. *cough* *cough* “This video will not get recommended” *cough* *cough*

I don't think they are talking about fame. They are saying that projects where people have put the effort in deserve to be noticed a bit more. Not necessarily to the point of fame.Support. “noticed a bit more” “barely got any views” “spent so much time to make that project and it goes in the dust.” Both of you, consciously or not, used a bunch of phrases that subtly refer to popularity. For some reason so many people on Scratch seem to avoid “the P word” like it's the plague.I don't think they are talking about fame. But honestly, I don't think there's anything wrong with admitting that popularity is an important component of Scratch. Scratch was designed to reward users for putting effort into their projects. (Of course now it rewards users who figured out how to game the system with constant low effort projects but I'm getting ahead of myself)

There's sorta something like this. I know I look at the scratchers that people I'm following are interacting with. I also frequently look at the “Projects Loved by Scratchers I'm Following”. My solution to this problem would for the ST to move the “Projects Loved by Scratchers I'm Following” so it's more in people's faces.

I support, would really help getting some projects some popularity and that type of stuff I think there should be a page where based on your favourite projects that similar projects are shown which the user may like. Etc if somebody liked rap music then projects based about Drake, Nicki Minaj etc are the recommedations for that particular user.well that's all I could think of…
