Allow Scratchers To Set their own placeholder for their comments.
So if you don't know, when you see a text area it sometimes has a placeholder. The normal scratch Placeholder is ‘leave a comment’. But I think it would be nice for users to be able to set their own placeholders, one for comments and one for studios. Of course your placeholders would go through filterbot, but that is to prevent people from using banned words/phrases.

Can you come up with an example of a situation in which this would be useful? I quite like the current, general purpose message, and I don't see any reason you would want to change it. I'm not even sure if people would notice it without actively looking for it; I wouldn't be able to tell you what the placeholder message was if you asked me before I clicked on this thread.

I mean people might notice it, if they start to stand out.

I mean people might notice it, if they start to stand out.Why do they need to notice it? The point of the placeholder is that you know what the input is for the first time you see it.

Not if it is stored on the server. of course you can use inspect to change the placeholder (as well as write a function in console to post a comment using ids by inspect), but only you can see that. this is like saying that welcome to my profile - please leave a comment. anyway, most people know that that text area is

If so, no support – it could be useful but it would be confusing for viewers. If someone changed the placeholder to “Gobo”, how would a new user know it's for commenting?

Wouldn't this message be much easier to understand if it was outside the comment input? Can you come up with an example of a situation in which this would be useful?I'm not the OP, but here is one:

THanks for the mock ups. maybe it would have a few set options, or what if the comment box has an option to show personalized placeholders. nice job with inspect

No support. I don't even read the placeholders and this kind of stuff should be in your about me, wiwo, or in some sort of stickied comment/next to the text field (which would likely be more effective to implement).

I think it's better to just display the message outside the input than to add another setting. It could be useful but it would be confusing for viewers.
